    Afterburner
    Spybot Search and Destroy
    Ad Aware
    AVG Free
FRAPS (only to monitor FPS, so it's free)
    OCCT
K-Lite Codec Pack (actually, this is my favourite out of the list)
VLC (for when WMP gets confused)

    Oh, and Alien Swarm.

    Great thread

Rather than repeat previous lists here's a few I didn't spot (might have missed though):

Smart Defrag - anyone know how this compares to Defraggler? (I like the optimise functions in Smart Defrag that moves commonly used files to the outside of the disk for faster access)

Media Jukebox 12 - Does a good job of managing music. Including to ipod without having to touch iTunes

MediaCoder - Transcodes just about any music format to any other. Think it also does video transcoding, but I don't use that

I would add MediaMonkey as another alternative to iTunes and Media Jukebox. Huge plugin support from a very active community.

"Everything" the file indexer. If, like me, you have terrabytes of.. Linux distro's.. and you haven't had windows file indexing turned on for a long, long while, it's much faster and much nicer to use, IMO.
