i have an inverter for a bloo neon string that makes a really high pitch noise and apparently this is normal.

Im planning on using this with my new ITX silent download machine but its not much use it i cant hear the pc but CAN heard the inverter!! :sigh:

put it on a switch, and then you can turn it off when you want it, and turn it on when you dont.

would a large amount of bubble wrap do? It wont overheat and melt though will it? The whole point of the machine is that i can leave it unattendeed when im asleep/ @ work as i dont 100% trust my Vapochill to not burn my flat down :worried:

Put it in a plastic project box with some felt or foam. It'll look nicer too.

Another vote for a box (clear plexi-boxes are cool, then you can light them up with LED's as well  )

The dude that did the lighted keyboard mod made the brightness adjustable and therefor controlling the amount of sound. I imagine foam would also work:D
