in a bit off bother!!! im mainly game nd do a bit off render work... now do i go down the intel i5 route or new amd 6core? aint got a great deal to spare.... this is for my own personal pc as well... nothing for display purpose cheers
Intel. But then I am a biased regarding Intel. I had endless troubles with my system when using AMD, but thats just me. Maybe start a poll?
The AMD six cores are not particularly impressive. They're apparently in the same performance ballpark as an i7 for roughly the same price.
For gaming, go for intel any day. I am a AMD user and i have to say i regret not going the i7 route. Even for rendering, an i7 overclocked can outstrip a 6-core AMD. Also, i miss the option of adding a second gtx285; most AMD boards don't support Sli.
I think I've been told lol cheers guys... now just gotta get 75 post so can sell on my current hardware Damn kfa 775
go for the Intel i5 it is a very good chip and when you overclock it, it is ridiculous fast for it price and wipes the floor with anything AMD offers in the £150 price range
"Fanboys camping - void" It's a bit of preference, I've had many AMD's in the past 10 years, but I do REALLY love intel now and won't run anything else from now on. (Unless AMD release a super chip that is quicker than the Hadron Collider.)
it does seem that intel are stomping on the amd brand big time.... but we all have a budget to work to. im gonna be selling a lot of "old tech" when i can access the rade forum.. nd hopefully raise around £400-500.. whatever i made would go towards new pc project
I suggest Intel, if you are an overclocker then you have more headroom compared to AMD. Also if you don't overclock then TurboBoost is a nice feature (Sandybridge's TurboBoost be be even better).
