And here we go. Get ready for a slew of this type of thing. They may be cheap, but there'll always be a reason and if people come away dissatisfied due to cut corners such as old versions of Android or poor screens, Apple will only win.

Can bit tech review it? If its good for video and games all could be forgiven tho I doubt it will be stellar.

Battery life kills it, just as a bad battery life on any product designed for portability would ruin the product. This would be a serious competitor if the battery life was 5+ hours, so at least a long commute, lunch break and commute back and some extra.

I'll stick to my smart phone thanks.
I still can't see the point of these things.

the battery life may suck, but it would actually be a great piece of kit to mod into a touch screen device in your home that is always powered. For example controling your media from a modded coffee table.

This can only be a good thing, creating more competition in the tablet market brings prices down across the board.
I'm waiting for a Window 7 tablet at a price point similar to this :D
    (Wishful thinking?)

This is the first tablet that totally appeals to me!

Such a shame about the battery life. 5 hours minimum would be ideal!

Any one know if the life is poor because of the components being high drain or the battery being low capacity?

Low battery and no multitouch = killing blows. Cheap, but there comes a certain point where cheap just isn't worth reduced functionality or miserable build quality.

I once saw a guy that put an iPad into a car and I've been wanting to do the same ever since. This would be a great device for such a thing, just like the coffee table idea.

I've always wanted to get a retail unit adjacent to a Next and call it "previous".
