Motherboards What bios setting?

    Hi I currently have 1 drive installed on a intel dp35dp motherboard
    in the bios it is set to raid
    I want to add a second drive to get some files and data off it
    What should i set the bios to achi or ide to get machine to boot as with it set to raid it wont boot

    what setting should i use to use the 2 drives

    achi or ide.. either one- the achi will let you plug in devices e-sata and hot swap without rebooting

    Just don't set it to Raid.
    Ahci should be safe with Windows Vista and Seven. (it works on XP too, but it requires a bit of tweaking)
    If you're using XP, set it to IDE.

    In Vista make sure the Ahci service is set to Automatic.

    yeah dont set it to raid, as you will have to create the raid array before you can install windows.
