    Hi all,

Just noticed the Thermaltake Level 10 case, and am wondering what people think. I think it looks pretty awesome, but I've only had a quick glance and haven't worked out how it actually works yet.

I saw it in flesh at an expo just recently.

    Some notes:
    - it's huge
    - It's... special
    - it needs to fit to the rest of the system/furniture/style
    - there's no way I would have one on my desk

It's nice for Thermaltake to try something new and there are lots of nice details in that case, but as-is, it's just too much IMO.

I agree. Whilst I'd have to commend them for pushing the boundaries of case technology, There's too many concerns for me. The aluminium pods that cover the hardware look very flimsy for starters. There doesn't seem to be much room in the main motherboard pod for the larger coolers. Water cooling just doesn't seem possible in that case, but I suppose it's been specifically designed for air cooling by the looks of it, and I think it'd be quite a 'noisy' case.

It is a fantastic piece of design though. Real function over form stuff.

Surely you mean form over function?

I really like the idea, but wouldn't buy one even if I could afford it. I've seen some photos of it with some of the compartments sagging a bit, looks like they skimped on the build quality, and for such a high end case that's pretty atrocious.

(they may have fixed it, not sure though)

I think it looks amazing, but I have to say anyone willing to spend that much on a case is going to be water cooling, so it's target market doesn't seem to exist

As good as it looks, it's well over priced for what it is, it could have been made much better. The one I have seen and had a good paw over seemed flimsy and the panels were saggy when they were opened and I have my doubts about it cooling a rig with a big overclock. For half the price there are many much sturdier cases about.

Novatech had one in the showroom off Tottenham Court Road, it didn't impress me seeing it "in the flesh".
