World of Warcraft was 6cds (with patches, 5 originally). Then Burning Crusade was another 4 discs. And Wrath of the Lich King only came on 1 DVD. Cataclysm will be next with at least one more DVD. So in total. 10cds and 2 DVDs. Plus endless downloadable patches
yep I still have mine and if I remember on the 5 th disc if you haven't saved anywhere and make the wrong choice it sends you back to the first one
Sadly I would only count WoW as 1 DVD currently, since you don't have to install WoW and BC beforehand to install Wrath.
Everyone's favourite, Phantasmagoria, is 6 discs, if I recall correctly. Generally, all those "full motion video" thingies of the late 90s came on at least 3-4 CDs. Most of those games sucked. Only exception I can recall right now was Realms of the Haunting. That, on the other hand, kicked arse!
Really, I thought you had to install vanilla then BC then Wrath. Still if you had it from the beginning you would have to install that many CDs
I thought it was 31 or was that Office 4.3 Pro? I had 31 Microsoft floppies once, can't remember which it was for.
This cursory overview doesn't quite do justice to precisely how HORRIBLE the installation is. After installing from discs you'll have to download about 4GB of patches. If you choose to download the client and install that way, you'll be downloading about 8GB of data. The uncompressed installation folder is 16GB, and every few months they whack another 1.5GB or so on. It's like having a tapeworm living in the bowels of your PC, consuming your bandwidth.
ah how about imperium galactica (maybe misspelt) awesome old game, 4 cds and each one for a different race.
Phantasmagoria II came on 6 or 8 discs I think. I still have it in my collection, but can't be bothered to verify the exact count right now...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_(video_game) Ring had 6 CDs ! Not a great game though, and my last cd was chipped at the center making installation difficult...
Damnit -- beat me to it I don't think I ever got it installed as I seem to remember my "unofficial" copy wouldn't read one of the disks -- probably disk 24, knowing my luck.
Diablo 2 battle chest. Believe it was a total of 6. Two regular game installs, one regular game cinematic, two expansion game installs, one expansion cinematic disc. I'd always skip over the cinematics installs, so it would be funky when I finished each of the five areas.
If you included expansion packs or a complete version then it would have to be the sims 2, 4 discs on it's own then over 15 expansions all of one or two discs each.
