It is kicking off on the steam forums! Australian retail copies are working but steam copies are still locked down. Also the steam pre-order unlock times have been put back (UK now 3pm tomorrow afternoon). Looks like retail will unlock from midnight tonight! Only time will tell!
Yep steam forums are very entertaining to read right now. I guess it would be nice to have some explanation from steam why it was pushed back. Oh well, there's not much anyone can do but wait.
I just got my retail copy today, it's a pity I can't pre-load it from the disk as my internet's so slow that doing it any other way isn't worth it. At least the retail copies unlock tonight. (WIN FOR ME)
i have retail, but is still locked, no idea on unlock time any proof that my retail will unlock sooner than online? ITS ON THE DAM DISK UNLOCK ALREADY!!!
I heard it's unlocking at midnight tonight, it's only the Steam digital versions that have been delayed.
yes, but what's the point when its on the disk? just wait till its unlocked, wait 10 minutes for installing it via DVD drive, then im good to go...
steam f***** up again, what's even worse people with retail copies have to wait as well. i had to wait nearly 2 days after release date to play f1 2010, after that i will never pre-order a new game on steam.
dude don't start on that, you bought the game, you physically have the disk in front of you..........so hell no you cannot play it. HOW DARE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
Not sure if this will help, but: When I bought a hard copy of Napoleon Total War and tried to install it while online it tried to download. I then went offline and it installed fine directly from the disk. Not sure if that is 1) the problem, or 2) will fix it.
I remember with MW2 Disc version it tried to download the installer via steam, and you just had to keep trying and then it would install via the disc. But you still had to wait to release time to play. But at least it was ready.

I'm attampting to install again now. If this doesn't work. I hate you. (But only if it doesn't work) EDIT: "Call of Duty- Black Ops cannot be installed yet, because it is not released." I'm going to give you one more chance by restarting steam. *Holds breath* EDIT 2: IT'S INSTALLING!!!! Who's a lucky boy then CRAZY CELEBRATION TIME!
