    unfortunately no work of genius

basically all the work carried out in the direction of Cubism, my work is no exception

all of which is the standard

If you happen to have a little bit of time to spare and a rather finished idea in your head, then it doesn't take that long to finish a design, if you know how to use SketchUp ;)

Yeah I've done 3 and tempted to do another LOL... but I'd probably drive my wife nuts so may just tweak some of my latest design seeing as I made some dumb mistakes (I have no idea what I was thinking). :sigh:

Ok, final design here. prepare for a lot of pictures and text. Behold, the DEFIANT

this refined design of mine not only meets the requirements of the mid-tower design set, but exceeds them, and in a case that's similar in size to the Corsair 800D
    my case:
    Height: 590mm
    Width: 250mm
    Depth: 630mm

    Corsair 800D
    Height: 609mm
    Width: 229m
    Depth: 609mm

    * Up to two locations for large radiators (minimum of dual 120mm/140mm)
This case can be configured to have:
    1x 240mm 30mm thick rad + 2x 240mm 60mm thick rads
    or
    1x 240mm 30mm thick rad + 2x 360mm 60mm thick rads

    how?
    [IMG][IMG]
see this lovely roof panel and how it comes off the case (showing off the built in carry handles). there's the location of the slim 240 radiator

the other 2x 240rads are in the front compartment
    [IMG]
with room to install your 5.25" drives
    [IMG]

But wait, didn't i say you can have a 360 rad in this case? if you don't need the top 3 5.25" drive bays, yes you can!

    * 1-2 pump mounting locations
A standard phoyba/EK tube reservoir can have a pump mounted to it with a converter piece. but if using a XPSC (or phoyba equivalent if made) dual DCC pump reservoir combo. 3 pumps can be installed

    * 4 x 5.25in bays
3x top front mounted bays (not usable if 360 rads are installed)
    2x lower front mounted bays
2x side drive bays (accessible from both sides of the case)
    7 drive bays in total
    * 4 x 3.5in Bays
6x 3.5" internal drive bay mounts
2x 2.5" SSD drive mounts on motherboard tray
    [IMG]

    * 1 x PSU mount
could have had 2 PSU's in this design, mounted on their side, but it would have increased the height of the case above the 800D which was not in my design ruleset

    * Hole for fill port and external radiators
not shown yet, but the roof panel, underneath the removable section will be a hole for a fill port. motherboard tray will have those classic rubber gromits

    * Internal mounting for an reservoir as EK Multioption or Phobya Balancer
reservoir mounts in the front compartment between the radiators. a window on the front allows you to see coolant level without removing side panels

    * Mounting holes in the side for bigger radiators
Ok, this i did not design, and don't plan to. you want a bigger radiator, there's some wonderful external radiator mounting plates you can screw them to, and plumb in with some quick connects to the case

    * Holes for 16mm or 19mm vandal switches (power and reset buttons)
    * LED holes for power and HDD lights

illuminated Vandal switches act not only as the power and reset switch, but the power and HDD lights as well

But, the main feature of this case.
    Normal motherboard mounting position
    [IMG]
    Rotated motherboard mounting position
    [IMG]
    Inverted motherboard mounting position
    [IMG]
    Inverted, Rotated motherboard mounting position

now you can truly decide how you mount your mobo, without having to custom fabricate a way to do it yourself

see, lots of room for a ATX motherboard. not shown is the cable management holes, oh and the holes for mounting 2 SSD's to the motherboard tray

    "What about the SR2?"

you mean that monstrously huge motherboard from EVGA. the one that only a select few cases can hold the thing in?

    i think it will fit...

Well, this is just a start.

I've made drawings (just have to scan them) to developp the concept even further. The main idea is to have a micro-ATX case allowing for a great performance build and nice cooling performance, with reduced size.

I'll post the drawings tommorow but to resume the case :

    2 x 360 rad
    m-ATX motherboard
6 x 3.5" HDD on the back of the case all with rail and backplane connectors.
fully customizable mount for pump, reservoir, anything (need a drawing to explain that point)

the outer box on this screenshot is only a shell, not the final design (which is still on paper). THe two rads suck cool air from outside thanks to vents, the HDD rack is mounted out of the box (same for the psu) ... but again .... need the drawings.

    Hope you'll like the concept

    Ladys and Gentlemen, hi.

I want to share with my very rough concept of midi-sized tower (size: 424x428x188mm).

All components are good seen on first picture.
(Sorry for 2D, it's rought. 3D in progress, but it's take time).

External views could be very flexible (left, right and front panels varied and interchangeable)

    In 2D:

In 3D (left window will be transparent, but it's nothing to show inside now, so it's non-transparent just for now)

    Thanks for watching :)

:jawdrop:Doh... i'v seen this contest only 24 hours ago:lol:...so...with no chance
This is my project named... mmm... Fear o__0

A full tower 591x552x224 made in 2mm alluminium (for now)

The front door can be open from left to right or from right to left
The dust filter on the top and on the front can be removed and washed too

In the bottom 2 PSU can be installed and one 2x120 radiator or one 4x120 + 2x120 + 1PSU can be mounted

The Hard disk cage can be removed, four 3,5HD and 8 2,5"HD can be installed.. In the cage can be installed 3x140 fans (2 on front and one inside the case) but if a 4 radiator is mounted, the fan on the bottom had to be thin

On the top a 2x140mm radiator can be installed too

There is also a 120mm fan on the back of the case

    * Single up to quad Radiator in top also in the bottom (140mm and 120mm)
quad radiator +double radiator in the bottom and 2x140 on top
    * 2 - 3 Pump mounts
a lot of space under the mainboard
    * 2 x 5,25" Bay
    2 x 5,25
    * 4 x 3.5" HDD Bay with air circulation
    4x with air circulation
    * 4 x 2.5" HDD bay with air circulation
    8 with air circulation
    * 1 - 3 x PSU mounts
    2 can be mounted
    * Holes for fill port and external radiators
none in the picture but there il the space
    * 1 or 2 more places for radiators including a Phobya Xtreme 200
None on the picture but the top can be replaced with 2x180 hole
    * Minimum 2 x internal mounts for a reservoir such as the EK Multioption or Phobya Balancer
Not in picture but one on the back of the case and one beside the mainboard
    * Mounting holes in the side for bigger radiators such as the Phobya Xtreme NOVA 1080 and the Cape Cora
Not in picture but will be near the 5,25 bay or\and near the 2,5 cage
    * holes for 16mm or 19mm vandal switches (power and reset buttons)
Not in the picture but can be installed beside the 5,25 cage
    * LED holes power and HDD
Like win zero says "illuminated Vandal switches act not only as the power and reset switch, but the power and HDD lights as well" but the led can be installed near the switch too

PS: Sorry for my bad english xD

    early 2000' server case modification

    Hi guys.
I am italian so sorry for my bad language.
Iam posting here my actual case modification than aim working on.
This is an easly 2000' server case modified to use 140 and 120 radiator.
The render still not finisced because im always away for work ( 7am-8pm )
The fun used are all 120mm and radiator can be swapped between 120 and 140 the max is 140x3 but the case can hold 1x 140x3 + 3x 140x2 or his little brother 120x.
In the front of the case there are 2x door with mesh to protect the bay and for air flow.
1 Basiccaly air come from the front inside the case by 3x 140 or 120mm fan.
2 From the bottom 2 fan pull air from the radiator and push it to the top.
3 On the back 1 fan push or pull air in the 140x2 or 120x2 radiator zone, the air is pushed up by the 2 fan as write on #2
4 On the top 2x 120 fan push the air outside the case thrugh the radiator
5 On hdd zone 2x 120 fan pull air from that zone outside the case.
6 On the top of the hdd side 2x 120 fan pull or push air from/to the radiator.
7 Instead of the 2° power supply ( the lower one ) can be mounted a fan or a small radiator or whatever u want.
If u see some hole not perfet fit the case or if u cant see any hole for screw is because i miss the time to complete the work.
I hope my design can help any other guy to make a very well modification of any case.
    Thanks anyway

    Here comes mine :D

I really try not to use Solidworks, or them i will finish having a render ready, but i really want to try do it stage by stage ;) because if everyone render, the contest don't will be apelative from now till february, i think...

The desing is quite simple, i try to use a layout i was trying construct inside my head:
Use RADs almost (in line with) back the board.

    So, case support:
    # 2 x DVD drives
    # 8 x HDD 2,5" with front 120mm fan
    # 1 x 3,5" for having USB or Card Reader
    # 5 x HDD 3,5" side by side with front 120mm fan
    # 2 x PSU on back/top
    # 2 x Phobya Extreme 200 bottom
    # 2 x Pump, in a L back the Board Tray
    # 2 x Phobya Balance 150
    # 2 x Fillport on front/top of case (in the sketch there not in the right place, forget that position, they are to be use on the 45º Front Top zone)
    # 1 CPU back acess
    # Cable for board management
    # Holes on Tray to see the minimum tubes, each pump are directly horizontal to CPU or GPUs
    # 2 460 or 480 RAD back the board tray. The holes for power are manage in a Acrylic piece do to each board if wanted, so can be use 3mm sleeving and have the best result
    # HDD Cage have a push pull fan system. The second fan helps too in hide the sata and power cables
    # In the place of normal 80mm next to I/O Shield it have 2 holes, so a Phobya 1080 can be use in the Right Side, using standoffs.
    # A large area back tray can be helpfull to hide and manage all cables using plastic cable clips
    # Each HDD cage group can be swap from place and fan.
    # Air from 460/480 Right Side RADs go out be a top exaust cut, so they never go near other components
    # Both PSU pull air from outside, one from each side of case

Removing the cage for 2,5", removing the front PX200 and put up the 3,5" cage, you can use 2 more 240mm RADs using previous 3,5" fan like a air duct to feed them :naughty:
If remove the back PX200 in previous config, you can use a new 460/480 RAD + 240mm RAD on bottom, and still have the others 2 on Back of Board Tray.

    Final dimension are: 265*655*620(H) yeah huge but can fit 3 480*60mm + a 240mm and a Phobya 1080 If needed :D

    Sorry for my bad english,

P.s:University eat a lot of my time, i'm sad i don't draw a better sketch :miffed:

    ok, here we go

    Long time no speak.

I have been working a lot lately, so.... here are some new sketchup's, and as promised a hand drawn sketch of the front of the case as well as a axial view of the beast.

in the sketchup are the tire-tracks still missing. Don't worry, if I make it to round 2 they will be done!

For now, this is it. Hope you will all enjoy it.

you can use a pc with 1500W of TDP in my case and its have noise reduction for HDDs, Fans and pumps.

i know my english is bad :D
