It could be that the torches are burning out.

I can't see what would cause them to burn out, and I wasn't aware burnt out torches dissapeared. I thought they just stopped for a bit (that's how pano's done that massive rapid pulsar.)

Yea, they're supposed (keyword there) to burn out for a few seconds.

It just seems unlikely that someone is griefing it, as they'd have to build quite a few block towers to reach all those different torches.

Apparently, if you put 'enable-health=false' into the server properties you can turn off health. I think we should do this - dying is infuriating when I'm trying to build.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the matter?

I am all for turning health off.

Mobs don't work (well) and all we do really is build (and play spleef :p), so turn it off so we can build freely :)

    i vote off.

on top of allowing us to build freely again, it will prevent more people from ghosting on us (editor being the most recent addition).

on another note...who has gone wild with tree planting in the area south of downtown and behind the guild hall? the hill behind guild hall is a no-build zone as it will soon be demolished to make way for the gardens. and Xtreme_Machine and i are contemplating removing the rest of them too as they are a bit much (and he needs the wood).

a tropical jungle/rain forest is fine...but maybe not so close to downtown where it gets in the way?

we already have flints and have prepared fire barriers...we just wanted to make sure noone was really attached to this forest before we lit it...

EDIT: due to a slight miscommunication, the forest west of the guild hall is no more. also gone is the forest south of that and behind the guild hall and south of my island....

You're going to upset the Ents. They're going to go to war and tear down the guild hall. :worried:

+1 to turning of health. It makes working on my (very high up) bridge very frustrating, so much so that I haven't really touched it since the update.

Thinking about having a Reader's Night on the Minecraft server. We could probably build something pretty damn sweet with a full server all working on the same thing using mumble.

What we need are plans for a megastructure!

I would worry about inviting a load of randoms on. The probably of one being a griefing **** increases greatly.

I think that turned out quite accurate ^_^

Huzzah! Got the clock tower working! Don't know why, but it didn't like it if I only inverted the signal once, so I inverted in three times. Now I can start working on it again.
