    I need more speed!

    I think I broke it:

It was going at 0.49Mb/s for a few minutes and then just jumped to that. If only it was that fast.

This is on a supposedly up to 10MB down package, test taken at 3am. This is more than I have been seeing in practice for the last 2 months and I am getting dozens of outages a day (ranging from a couple minutes to a couple hours)

I am considering getting a separate phone line put in for broadband as my father doesn't seem interested in getting this fixed despite him constantly moaning and using the internet frequently. All attempts at contacting AOL support have been useless (multiple phonecalls and the new router and old router we have from them have similar performance). Driving me nuts.

I live in the Bedfordshire countryside in a small village. I doubt I can get faster even if I pay more. I pay £18/month for a long defunct deal. I've been with them since the freeserve days (6 years, I think) and I've been lucky as it's been a faultless service throughout.

It's finally been upgraded, not quite the 10:1 upload ratio I was expecting but more than double what it was:

Pings are all over the place atm, it's usually around 9ms. 3.15pm probably wasn't the best time to run it.

It's a curse, not a blessing... As when I use a slow connection it's so frustrating...
