So ive just got a nice little netbook, sony vaio, 1.66ghz atom, 1gb ram. as you can see its not the fastest netbook in the world lol

currently got super meat boy, world of goo and bejewelled.

would like to get some more games just to play on it and aint got a clue where to start as the games need to have quiet low requirements

Preferably i want some games with offline high score boards of some sort so i can pass my vaio around my mates and try and beat each others scores.

so you guys/gals got any recommendations?

    Peggle!

Seriously, don't do it. You'll get hooked.

The Heroes of Might and Magic series tends to get played all the time on portables by my family/friends (HoMM 3 specifically, with the random map generator. the others were pants.)

As you mentioned Super Meat Boy, have you tried VVVVVV?

For high score competitions with friends, you could look at some of the flash games on the web. There was a month or two where my friends and I were competing for the best score in Squares 2.

+1 on world of goo. what a delightful little game.

    machinarium, settlers 3, quake.

    edit:
forgot, maybe audiosurf will run smoothly. that's quite fun too.

I've been playing Diablo 2 on my little 901, works really well. Any oldish games should work perfectly, like point and click adventures.

Osmos? The others were good suggestions. But you could play anything that is old enough.

Surprised no ones mentioned Torchlight... it scales wonderfully to almost any system and even has specific netbook gaming options. It's a fun little game especially with the community mod packs.

You can get away with the touchpad, I believe the Netbook option gives it better keyboard controls... though obviously it would be preferable to use a mouse.
