Well, it depends how much you're willing to spend and what you want to do with it! I'll assume you want to run games.

The cheapest card you should buy is a 1GB GTX 460 for £140

If you can spend more, I'd recommend a Radeon 5870 for £206. I highly recommend you go for this card as the price is incredibly cheap at the moment. Not only that, you get Aliens Versus Predator thrown in, which is a pretty good game in my opinion.

ew, I had that particular 5870 for a week or two in June. My end of exams present to myself. There was a buggy bios and a bad cooler that meant it was noisy, and it has a custom pcb which means you can't overvolt it.

    Avoid if you can.

In today's gaming, max max settings, 60fps: a Geforce GTX 260 is all you need.
For tomorrow games, a Geforce GTX 560 (not out, not official name, no details released. But you know what I mean), or on a budget and available now: 1GB Geforce GTX 460.

that's what we like to hear :D

570's good. Reasonable price, good performance. Can't tell you much more than that personally - I do however own its bigger brother and that seems good enough.

Bascillu with graphic cards the more you spend the more you get, and then remember heat and noise issue and the fact you'll see diminishing returns in performance per £ as you go up the scale.
If moneys no object a 580/570. Otherwise moving down a 6950, or 460.

Also if you buy today bargain alert

Yea. Just received mine from DPD Santa :D

5850 plus overclock should handle pretty much anything at 1920 res, if people are not crazy about Crysis, Metro2033, ArmaII that is

KFA were UK branch of BFG, when US BFG went bust, UK guys found Galaxy and basically Europe arm of Galaxy.

cards are manufactured by Galaxy, branded under KFA across Europe and warehouse is somewhere in Wales.

if i were buying nVidia card, apart from big motherboard manufacturers, i'd go with either KFA or Zotac. don't go with Palit/PNY as closest RMA centre i can find is in US.

I just received my new KFA GTX 570 yesterday, overclocked it last night to 825 (the highest it would manage and still remain stable without extra volts) and it's not a kick in the a**e off of a stock 580 and all for £150 - £200 less. Highly recommended!
