Maybe I'm being a bit thick, but what is the equivalent of "speedstep" in the award BIOS setup?

I'm sorting out my OC settings, but want speedstep on like I had on my Asus board. Where is it? I can't find it anywhere.

Also... can someone post up their X58A-UD3R BIOS screenies for a 3.8 or 4 OC please?

Brilliant. Thanks. I packed the box away with the manual in it, and can't be bothered going into the attic to retrieve it :)

Its called turbo boost...Enter the bios> advanced frequency settings> Enter> Advanced CPU core features>Enter. And there it is...turbo Boost..

If you are overclocking leave it Enable Max multiplier is X22 with it enable you'll get X23. It'll only back off when the mobo throttles back when things start getting a bit warm. I can get 4.3ghz totally stable 4.4Ghz if I start cranking up the voltage a bit.

Are you still using the i7 920?

I'll post the basic settings you'll need to do 3.8 or 4Ghz if you want me to.

Nope... not turbo boost... that increases multipliers under load... I wanted the speedstep function that throttles back under idle states. Yakideo was right... It's set now, and working fine.

    Thanks anyway though. :)

Oh yeah..lol I was just thinking overclocking. But just in case you need to know where turbo is you'll be able to find it dead easy now...:duh:
