This arrived this morning and it's totally legit and real :) I've been testing it out and it sounds pretty damn good to me! The only thing is that the windshield is a little grubby with a couple of rust spots on it, so I've called the local music store and asked them to order me a replacement one in. Mic for £30, windshield for about £12... still a bargain as far as I'm concerned :)

Can't do any worse than my iPad one, 10" is too much for someone of my dexterity; there's a reason they always give you two in a pack. On a side note how are you liking the device?

I've finally gotten round to buying a Kindle WiFi for the girlfriend. Ruddy Royal Mail Special Delivery has decided that 1pm can actually translate as 'whenever we feel like it' so I'm impatiently playing Angry Birds/writing an essay until it arrives. Of course, it's for her, not me :worried:

I did some math and it would be cheaper for me to just replace the screen of my HTC Desire when it gets scratched, with a new one from eBay than it would be to buy a new screen cover every time the old one falls off.

I was going to try to go without but wimped out after a recent close call.

I'm finding the Mozart brillant at the moment, apart from a few bugs which will hopefully be fixed soon.

When Amazon shipped my Kindle they didn't even bother to use Special Delivery just normal 1st class, that was on the most expensive delivery option (which I ended up not paying for anyway). The Kindle is worth the wait though.

EDIT: Just got it on with only two small bubbles, both in the button area.

How often do those screens get scratched anyway? Doesn't all high end smartphones nowadays have glass screens instead of plastic? Just make sure not to throw it into the 'keys and change' pocket and you're good..

Pair of Oakley goggles (circa 1988). Though I don't actually go skiing or doing extreme sports, they're cheaper than cycling glasses and look 10x cooler.

Bland no-name backpack, just for carrying water on longer bike rides

    - The good screen protectors don't fall off.

    - Unless you're a complete idiot, you should be able to put a screenshield on an iPhone/iPad/HTC/other flat glass fronted device without air bubbles. Doubly so if you are a tech minded person.

    - The good ones last a long time. The SGP Steinheil screenshield on my heavily used iPhone 3GS has been on there since I got it which was about 8 months ago, and has no lifting edges or scratches on it to date which might make me change it.

    - It's always good to have some protection on the screen because whilst they are resiliant to scratches compared to the average iPod/non smartphone plastic fronted screen, there are still plenty of things which can score them.

Ive had my Bold 9700 over a year now and still on the same protector.

Just be careful with the phone, and they survive fine.

I screen protectors are necessary. My zune and my desire screens are both perfect after respectively 12 and 5months of use and I carry both in my pockets on a daily basis

tbh however I just got lucky because I dropped both devices a few times and only the corners were scratched/chipped. The screens never got damaged

My bold 9000 was spotless after 18 months with no screen protector. My N900 is 9 months old and the screen is as new, despite not having a screen protector on it either. The trick is to be careful with your device. Never put other things in the same pocket, watch where you put it down etc.
