Brilliant!! Although dont tell the Mrs as she bought me a GT Driving Force for xmas. Only cos we cant afford the G25 and i wouldnt shut up about wanting one :)

Only problem is though, is that i need a wheel stand to use it properly which is another expense we cant afford :(

Anyways.....On with the bargain goodness!

Best recent buy has to be my i5 760, MSI P55A-GD65 & 4GB OCZ RAM for £160.

Although that is challenged by the two 5770's I got for £110 recently as well.

My Asus P2B, 3Com NIC and soundblaster. The remaining original parts in my Win98 gaming / server pc. Still going strong after 12+ years and 10,000's of hours.

TBH though my dad bought it for me so its not really 'my best purchase ever'

I've had some good luck with CPUs in the past few years. I picked up an E8400 on launch day for $199 (it promptly went up by like $50 a few weeks later), and I managed to pick up my q9550 for $225 just after lynnfield came out.

I also was quite pleased with myself when I bought eight (it was as many as I thought it could possibly use) 1GB ddr2 pc-6400 modules for $7.99 each in december 2008.
