How can u say that i should change video card when it's a GF 4 Ti4600 128 MB. And no I'm not saying that these puny chipset number should matter. For example look at MR T's specs and score

One thing to remember is that when you were running 3d01 and got a couple of hundred more points but were already around the 10K+ scores it wasn't much of a percentage gain.

I suppose you get into the habit of looking for similar rises but to go, for example, from 1000 to 1200 is now a 20% boost for the same 200 points.

During my time using 3d01 I've had steadily increasing scores from 1000'ish to over 12000 so I expect the same will, in time, happen for 3d03.

That's what I have, and I can only do 153
Oh, I guess you have the DDR version (Mine is SDR)
If mine was DDR, I would be getting awesome scores (I would only be about 50MHz below Geforce 4 Ti 4200)
Of course, my idea of an aweosme score was 5,000 for 2001SE

    1540 3d marks

    XP2100+ @ 1920mhz/333fsb
    515mb Twinmos 3500 @ 220mhz Cl 2.5
    Gainward Ti4200GS @ 284mhz/589mhz

I've got a Gainward AGP8x Ti4800GS and some Corsair TwinX LL Ram on the way though.. so maybe I'll be able to squeeze out a few (hundred) extra points.... :D

You're missing the point. It's called 3dmark for a reason, it's meant to benchmark the 3d capabilities, not the system. And, from what I can gather, it does just that. The numbers aren't useful to judge how any games will perform accurately, but it gives you a way to analyze card vs. card in terms of performance.

    Wahoo! i got 207 :-D
Well i did over clock my Geforce2 MX400 to 266.08MHz (engine Clock) 221.93MHz(mem clock)

    XP2000+ @ 1.75 @ 140FSB
    Asus A7N8X
    512MB PC2700
    Geforce2 MX400(266/222)

Just wondering is this a good score for a Geforce 2 MX400?

Power strip is just an overclocking program. I use Rivatuner.
I am asking how the ehll can it run stable at those speeds.

    *curses loudly*
Damn PowerStrip almost killed my computer. I ran it, modified settings, and bam! my computer shuts off and won't power up. I finally get it to boot and luckily Rivatuner restores my working settings so my card stoll works. I think PowerStrip spent a total of 5 minutes installed, and 3 of those where when computer was down.
dammit, how did you do that?

i am not impressed at all with this benchmark. it ran like total crap. my system pulls 8900's in 2k1. a year ago this was the kik-assest gaming box i could build. now its totally outdated? i think not. i still pull a solid 70- 100 fps playing tribes 2 on the biggest busiest server in the USA.

xp 1800+, volcano 7+ with AS3 max 50c under extended full load.
    abit KR7A
    2x 256MB corsair pc2100 cas2.5( running 2, 4x interleave)
ATI Radeon 8500 64mb (stock speeds)
    60GB maxtor (fat32, not ntfs)
    dx9
    catalyst 3.0's
whichever via 4-n-1s that was out when i last formatted
    xp sp1

I think everyone should stop stressing out about getting supposedly **** scores and it running at 1FPS. You have to remember that they're future proofing. Just because you get a lower score than you do in 3DM2K1 doesn't mean you're systems got any worse.

A few years ago someone would have got under 100 marks in 3DM2K, doesn't mean their system was worse at the time than any other.
