£70 to fill my tank ($112?) and I get about 250 miles from it - Rover 75 2.5L V6. Luckily I don't too do many miles at the moment I had a 4.6L V8 Cadillac DeVille on one holiday in Florida. 300bhp, suspension made from rubberbands and brakes off a childs pushbike are not a good combination...
I used to work as a Pharmacy Assistant and delivery oxygen in a Laguna estate. It coped with the load very well, and when it was empty I had some fun. Renault Laguna's and Meganes handle corners remarkably well. Mind you I've only driven those registered between 97-01. I had a G plate Cav. An absolute workhorse but it was my first so not gonna fault it ( apart from £150 welding jobs). An ex had a Hyundai Accent. They couldn't be arsed changing the indicator lever to the left side for UK models, so you were forever turning your windscreen wipers on at junctions. Just when you get used to it you get into a "normal" car and turn it's window wipers on as well. Mitsubushi C(h)arisma. Dreadful to drive, however NEVER broke down in 5+years use. For my own personal reasons I will forever love that car.
'84 suzuki sidekick 0-60 (with a useless "Power" switch on) 26 seconds 1.6L "engine" 96hp (from the factory) 20-21mpg no matter how I drive (no really ) bad shudder at 60+ 75MPH top speed 220,000 miles very bad hail damage dark green with very attractive pink and baby blue pinstripes terrible ride, poor handling, door handles kept falling off, ect... Pretty good in the snow but awful at EVERYTHING else. Upgraded to '02 Subaru WRX
Drove a friends 205 1.0 once, the pedals were so close together I could bridge them with one foot. Very uncomfortable
To be fair it only makes a few 15 minute journeys every week plus half an hour both ways to High Wycombe plus whatever extra stuff we use it for during the week..
That was my first car! What a beast she was... Wasn't a bad little car actually. I can't actually remember - it was quite a few years ago. I do think it did this so it could well have been. I just vividly remember thinking it was a POS but I was used to hot hatches at the time so it was never going to fair well.
There just might be a difference between the amount of petrol £40 buy you here, and $40 buy you....wherever you live Where I live: £40 = 31,5 Liters of 95RON (8.3 Gallons) $40 = 19,6 Liters of 95RON (5.2 Gallons)
anyone have any fond memories of volvo 340 1.6? No! and there never will be - except in snow where the rearwheel drive allowed powerslides at 2mph (its top speed)
Chevy Shadow. Although in all fairness it was really falling apart and just didnt feel safe. Im sure as a new car it was peppy as all hell. And whats this with Toyota Corrola as a 'bad drive'? Im going to start taking things personally here about Japanese cars! I own a Honda Accord and my sister a Toyota Camry! And both are awesome cars! I'd drive/own/buy either one in a heart beat over any american car, and by any I mean normal cars. Nothing sports or otherwise performance based (cause I get a hardon with the new Chevy Camaro)
Well the thing is you're comparing the corolla to a larger car, probably the V6 versions. The corolla just lacks power in general and coupled with the fact that the Corolla is miserably cramped and just outright boring...
Received a Pegeout 207 Station Wagon for a hire car the other day, and I can say without any hesitation that this car is a pile of ****. Rant over.
It's a toss up between a 1.0l Polo of older but indeterminate age or my mum's current 1.0l (maybe 1.1) 106. Both gutless but the Polo was so tinny it felt dangerous plus I had to lean forward each time I changed gear as the gear lever was somewhere around the back of my left knee. Soooo glad I drive a Cooper S now (turbo one, not supercharged)
No they don't, the factory in Sunderland now assembles the Nissan Juke. Which version was your Mum's old Polo? My old Polo (vintage 1998) isn't too bad, but I have the mid-level version. I would love a Cooper S though, if I could afford it!
