I was about to link you to the Lumix, before seeing you'd already linked it as well. That'd be my choice of those cameras/that pricerange.

It was already mentioned in the other thread, but you should really walk into a store and handle some cameras.

I bought a couple of compacts last month as birthday presents for family members; a Samsung and a Nikon S8000, both around the £140 mark. Basically just walked into a Jessops store and played with the cameras. As a bonus, you get to ask the staff questions if you're not sure about something (although their knowledge seems to vary from store to store.)

You don't have to buy from the store, but you do get a good feel for the camera. Some of the cheaper ones felt a bit flimsy, others had a frustrating auto focus system (the AF on the Canon A495 is shockingly bad.)

I like my lumix TZ6, although i'm not sure how comparable it is. Panasonic seem to make decent cameras in general though.

Girlfriend has that camera. Works a treat with multiple shooting modes you can adjust most thing's.

One thing to note, i would pass on the hard case until you have seen the one they come in. It's not a shabby case at all.

thanks for the offer mate, nice camera! but i really think ill be needing a good zoom, somthing of 10 or more optical... thats why im going for the WB600 with 15x at only £130

It will be used for everyday personal use, and for a serious matter such as gathering evidence/proof where i may be a good distance away from where the illegal action is taking place.

    For evidence !? Interesting?
Local yobs, or are you are a private detective hehe.
If you are looking for that kind of thing then i would recommend a DSLR,
My last camera was an olympus E-420/30
Very good camera for that kind of thing and one of the smallest DSLRs around.
They can be had off ebay for 120-160 including the standard 14-42 lens.
Im currently looking at the Sony NEX-5 but waiting for a price drop.
The best prices for cameras including free delivery seem to be on play.com
As far as the tripod try your local Lidl/Aldi they usually sell them for £10/15

heh none of those things, its out in the country side to give you a clue mate :thumb:
And also involves alot of running an jumping in a and out of vans and landys, so DSLR will be to big and heavy for my needs, something small and light is what i need, thats why i think the compact WB600 with 15x zoom will be perfect.

Hey there dude , seems cameras never leave me , the post about going into a jessops is right , I work in one , I'd suggest either the panasonic tz8 or the canon powershot sx210 , both very similar but depends what u like the feel over and perfer to use , jessops sell the canon for around £199.95 off the top off my head , not sure about the panasonic , we dnt get them in often , also have a look on our website at www.jessops.com to read up on specs :) hope this helps you :) tipatalk on iPhone is epic!

I suggest looking up the camera model on Youtube but at 12MP and 4xoptical it looks real nice. Just have to see how it handle white light.
