The irony of it all, is that now I don't need it any more I'm going to be doing it again. Modern stuff is so much better and reliable compared with the early days. But the same could be said of the latest HSF's.

I've decided to go Watercooling. 2 Loops, i7 and motherboard in 1 loop, the other will be for hopefully 2 GTX580's. Decided i will probably spend the extra on the Bits power fittings, but i'm going to be buying parts over a few months, so hopefully the initial cost wont be so.... Shocking.
I'm also changing case to the Obsidian 800d, so black interior, but i can't decided on hose colour, Really like the White, but don't want all white. What would you go for?

    Cheers
    Sam

Edit, Don't suppose you know of any Radiators that have fittings at either end of the radiator?

    I knew you'd break!!! :thumb:

I've seen some that have one at one end and one at the other... Have a poke on Aquatuning, their selection is exhaustive :)

Why the 2 loops? A RX 360 in the top with a 120mm on the rear 'should' be enough. One of the guys on here runs a RX360 on 2 580's and gets mid 50's (can't remember if it's under load or not). So a 920 and a M/B block wont add anything to this. If you use gentle typhoons then you'll probably drop that by a couple of degrees too :) Just use a D5 to power it all and you'll be sorted :)

As for the tubing... What other colour were you going to go for?

Ah, i hadn't broken into the idea, been toying with it for a while now. Gotten to a point where i want to have this thing finished, as it's been in a state of 70% done.

Thinking now maybe just 1 loop, white tube, and Bit's Power fittings, should look swanky.

Could do white tubing with coloured fluid, some of that nice mayhem dye, so you can see it in any clear areas?

Haha, Pete, do you have msn or Skype? Be easier to clog that up rather than your thread.. Also allow me to ask more questions more directly.

Have you heard anything about the performance problems or benefits from using a T-joint fill or thought about hot to make a reliable T-joint?

I've come across then from time to time. I always think they look nasty.

what were you thinking about using one for?

An admin should make this a sticky thread. It's a pretty good reference.

While i don't have the time for a full water set up, i would like to do one eventually and i'll be looking here for hints and tips.

I was looking to use one as a fill port and a bleeding aid. But the more I am looking into it I think a cylindrical res is the best choice. I think if it were in the right place and out if sight it could be used. But that would probably mean using the back panel.. I am never a fan of opening that.

Yeh, quite a few people have said this, it may happen :)

A cylindrical res would be best, as I found as I was going to use a fill port, but it was easiler to just unscrew the top of the res and pour it in. So much faster.
    What case are you using?

Not currently, but I'm trying to convince myself not to buy a Silverstone TJ11 currently... I want one so badly...

So I'll probably buy that over the summer...

I will be using my Coolermaster Cosmos S. Probably mount the Res between the motherboard and the 5.25" bays and a 3x120 Rad at the top.

    Good call :)

I'm planning a major upgrade/rebuild for the summer, so watch this space as I'm aiming for MDPC levels of perfection...

Ok, i'm struggling with a couple of things.
So here's my shopping list for a dual loop system, Case is a Corsair Obsidian 800D
    Loop 1:
    Laing D5
    EK D5 Top
    EK Supreme HF CPU
    EK Full Board UD5 Blocks
    MIPS RAM Block
    EK Tube Reservoir
    Aquacomputer Aquaero 5 Block
    XSPC RX360
    Bits Power Fittings

    Loop 2:
    EK GTX580 Block/Back Plate
    XSPC RX240
    Laing D5
    EK D5 Top
    EK Tube Reservoir
    Bits Power Fittings

    Control/Monitor
    Aquacomputer Aquaero 5 XT
    Aquacomputer Aquaero Power Adjust

The Problem i have, is i'm not sure which way round i should run the Loops. I'm thinking for Loop 1:
    Pump - Reservoir - RAM - CPU - Mobo - Radiator - Pump
    And Loop 2:
    Pump - Reservoir - GPU 1 - GPU 2 - Rad - Pump

Loop 1 needs to include the Aquaero's own Block, so i'm thinking just use a T-Piece as it doesn't need to be in the main channel, but i don't know where i should add it.

I've forgotten some of my other questions, but any advice to the above would be most appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Sam
