    Hi,

I'm thinking of upgrading the memory on my dad's laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-1AZ) from 1GB to either 2 or 4GB as it seems to struggle with windows 7 (Vista was pre-installed)

    The spec is currently:

    # Processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-55 / 1.8 GHz ( Dual-Core )
    # RAM - 1 GB (installed) / 4 GB (max) - DDR II SDRAM - 667 MHz ( 1 x 1 GB )
    # Graphics - ATI Radeon X1200

Windows/Vista has always preferred more that 1GB so I'm think 2 should be enough. The only thing I'm not sure about is mixing one of the following 1GB sticks with the existing ram.

    1GB DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300 (667), 200 Pin, N-ECC Unbuffered....................................................................£10.68 ex VAT £12.82 inc VAT
    1GB Corsair Value Select, DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300 (667), 200 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-15...........£11.97 ex VAT £14.36 inc VAT
    2GB Corsair Value Select, DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300 (667), 200 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5.......................£20.49 ex VAT £24.59 inc VAT
    4GB (2x2GB) Corsair Value Select, DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300 (667MHz), 200 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CL5......£38.53 ex VAT £46.24 inc VAT

Well based on the persumtion that you only have two slots - you can count out the 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair Value Select set, unless your happy to loose the existing 1gb stick.

Failing that, any of the 667Mhz 1 or 2gb sticks you've listed should work. Personally I'd go for 1gb stick along with the existing, or get the 4gb (2x2gb) pack. I wouldn't bother with a 1gb and a 2gb stick for the price.
