Other option is a 480. You can get them for £200 now and there faster than a 560 however they can run quite hot and noisy.

I game at 1920 * 1080 and have recently upgraded from a 4870(which performs very similar to a 5770 I believe?) to a 560 and am very happy with the performance boost.

    So +1 to a 560

+1 for that if you can handle the noise.

Personally I'd go with gtx 560 twin frozr II.

GTX 480 for great power, noise and heat. GTX 560 for good performance and a far superior card.

You cannot go wrong with either card, I personally would go with the GTX 560 because noise drives me crazy and I don't like the heat the GTX 480 produces. But if you have a great case for cooling or one that muffles noise REAL well then the GTX 480 would be great.

Of course there is also the AMD 6950 to be considered, if you get one that can be unlocked to a 6970 then it is a great buy as you will get awesome power at a bargain price. The only reason I go for GTX 560 instead of AMD cards is because I find they tend to be better spported by games right off the bat, I always feel like AMD is playing catch up, and that's why I prefer the GTX 560. Others will say I am talking nonsense, and I may be to an extent, so don't let my prejudice sway you - especially as I see you use an AMD card now, if you have been happy with them in the past then the 6950 2gb card (these are the ones that can be flashed to 6970) has got to be the best choice due to the performance you will gain once flashed

Refer to my post at #8.

The Gigabyte GTX480 Special Edition is basically the same card and has the same cooler as the Gigabyte GTX480 SOC. The custom cooler drop the GTX480 fan noise from 50dbA down to 38dbA, and is quieter than lots of card...including the reference 5870:
    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/GeForce_GTX_480_SOC/26.html
Owners of the card also claimed that the load temp during gaming is only between high 60C and 80C.

Completely missed the price tag on that, my bad. £202 for a GTX 480 that does not sound like a jumbo jet is definately worth considering

    this guy...just loves this card...

anyway, should you choose slightly better performance (and there are some games where the 560 will struggle to remain above 25 fps minimum) for significantly more heat (although apparently this card does a better job of keeping the card itself cooler than a stock gtx 480, but the heat is basically dispersed into your case moreso than a stock gtx 480 will do) and power consumption, then by all means.
my pov on it is the gtx 480, 470 and 465 were garbage and you would be better of going with the revisions (460, 580, 570, 560, and 550 when the price lines up better)
