Because there wasn't a console on release. They released a patch today (PC version only) to bring it back, along with a bunch of other things because people were going ape. # Server Browser shows incorrect pings - Fixed # Some matches never initiate - Fixed # Faster text chat - As speedy as can be # Console re-enabled - Console has been re-activated # Cheat detection - Now in place to ensure all users are on a level playing field # Fix USB headset issues – Current issues have been addressed and fixed # Fix hologram icon staying on screen after being used - Fixed # Remove Auto Aim The patch will automatically download when you boot the game up.
installed today, Hmmm, only playing single player, but mouse very sticky and laggy, i guess due to lots happening on screen? Disabled firewall etc etc, not that playable for me on my i7930 and 5870, maybe i will try reducing quality, however frame rate was ok, not sure whats going on, any ideas for me? Oh, and had that grey vertical lines crash, which was annoying aswell. Maybe i should stick to msn and forums, im good at them.
Latest graphics drivers? Clean your mouse? I'm having no difficulty playing it on my sig, what's your entire spec?
I think i may of moved my case around too much ive got a wireless mouse, and i think it was too far from transmitter, or interfering with something, ive moved it and its now very playable, thanks though, guess i should try a few things before asking in future. However it doesent make me very good at gaming though . Spec is i7 930 ud9 mobo c300 ssds 6g of corsair ram single 5870 dell 24010 old one
The console is still restricted to only 47 commands. Now go and type r_displayinfo=1 in the console...did it come up with invalid command? bet it did. Now go and type that command into a .CFG file and then load the game and open the console. Notice how the console has now excepted it? But yet it still doesn't show the info...this is because they have restricted the console. My point is, they should of just left it alone so. This game is MAXIMUM CONSOLE. Simon.
Or perhaps not... But yeah, it is not brilliant. I cannot play it yet with the 5970 as the light sources flicker really badly, and I don't want it ruining the game. I'm not sure whether adding the multi GPU command will help, will try later, but if not, I hope AMD or Crytek pull their fingers out in getting it sorted. From what I could see, it looked pretty good, and I enjoyed the demo.
Marvin - On Steam: you can either play windowed, or force a decent [Bioshock usually]Xfire profile using the RadeonPro tool. You'll also need Catalyst 11.4preview and 11.2Cap4 Profiles. On Retail just rename Crysis2.exe to Bioshock.exe. And it doesn't always work.
Well I got my copy yesterday, didn't get a damn chance to play it, so I have specifically got up early on my day off to play it Not had my gaming machine on for 3 months, got an SSD and GTX570 so hopefully this will give it a wee warm up (before Arma II..) Damn slow DVD drive, sure this is my bottleneck now
I'm on the 3rd level of it on xbox360 (yes I know, my rig is a 9800gtx with AMD x2 6000+ so I would not be able to play it :/ ) and I am loving it so far. I thought that the city enviorment would put me off, but it looks amazing.
THIS is a tool that creates the autoexec.cfg for you. You can set details and vsync etc and your AA. Not too bad i say.
Urgh, Crysis 2 suffers from the same issue I had with Crysis 1, in that I can't seem to kill any body with a rifle from more than 1meter away! I can only assume its a health regenator thing the baddies get, cause I shot one guy about 7 times in the face and he didn't die!
OK, my will power dissolved and I bought it! Problem is that even with the 11.4 preview drivers and the RadeonPro profiles set, I am still getting the 'flashing lights' problem. Playing in window mode stops this but kills my fps! I think I will have to wait for a driver update to play this properly. *Edit* I don't know why they want my suit - their armour seems much better than mine!! Also - Wot! No quicksave?!?!?!?! I hate checkpoint games!
