Why both the tele lenses, for you and someone else?

 

you can never have enough tele lenses but the tamron was a prezzie from the wife the same day i got the sigma

 

Why not just return the worse one of the two? I'd be inclined to return the tamron, based on the former having IS. You can have enough tele lenses, unless in my case the one is a 70-200 f2.8, and weighs quite a bit more than my 70-300mm in which case you do need both, one for f2.8, one for travel.

well i cant return the Tamron as that was the one bought by the wife and she will kill me even if i mention the word 'return' and to be honest it give me the extra 100mm and will keep the wife happy

 

This thing is HUGE!!!!!!

 

Come on man, can't you just explain to her that you don't need two lenses that do the same thing, and you will get blur free photos as the one you got has image stabilization? You can't do much with 300mm which turns into 450mm odd with a crop body, which needs 1/450th odd shutter speed without image stabilization. Why not invest in an ultra wide angle lens instead, or maybe a macro?

Oh and I wish my phone could take an slr lens ;
