Hi i recently asked advice on my new build and got a great response from you guys so thanks for that. I have got all my components from scan so far and expected to come tomorrow but two components i wish to get are out of stock being graphics card and cpu cooler. i would like to get building asap and scan seems to be better place to buy. what i want is this from scan costing £317: Msi GTX 570 Twin Frozr III Power Edition OC Be Quiet! Dark Rock PRO Or i could get it from Overclockers UK costing £330 Msi GTX 570 Twin Frozr III Power Edition OC Be Quiet! Dark Rock PRO I could just alter components to these and get from scan costing £346: Asus GTX 570 DirectCU II Noctua NH-D14 Any advice?
advantages of Scan: Many awards Free delivery Good customer service 1 hour delivery window advantages of OcUK:
Scan every time. Double so as you get free delivery from being on this forum (with 20 posts). They use DPd for deliveries, and they're by far the best courier service I've ever used (and I've used literally them all).
Are the scan and overclockers prices the wrong way around? You can get free postage from scan as well I have heard nothing but bad things about overclockers. Also consider aria
no overclockers with delivery price and scan i get for free like you said so Scan £317 but no ETA Scan seem best service Overclockers £330 i can possibly get them by Wednesday and aria costs £328 and doesn't have graphics card in stock So no ETA
OcUK have free postage too...... infact they've been doing it for ages now. Similar conditions apply to scans postage and bit-tech forum posts though. I buy from who ever has the better price as i get free postage from either.
OcUK free delivery is 90 days plus 250 posts and i rather pay than wait scans 20 posts is much better Yea im going to contact scan again see how long they think last time they didn't know hopefully they got some more knowledge
Similar conditions? Lets compare. Scan: 20 posts with Bit-Tech. Free delivery for life. Next day delivery on ALL items, even Today Only, for free. OcUK: "OcUK Forums members who have 250 or more posts and have been registered for over 90 days, or OcUK Forums members who have been registered for over 12 months and made at least 100 posts" - lifted directly from their forum. If you think those are "similar" conditions, I guess you probably think that having your penis amputated with no anaesthetic is is "similar" to having your appendix removed with anaesthetic. EDIT: Tightened grammer for extra sarcasm.
Yea That Sums it up perfectly i tried to make an account on forum to ask a question but i got pissed off with it the captcha you couldn't read it took 50 times of entering it, finally did it and log in and blocks my account from seeing anything!
orders do have to be £50 to be free delivery with scan, but they're still the best all round and its still a great offer. i have to say ebuyer has the best RMA procedure i've ever seen, but quite often a bit more expensive.
To be fair, you get free next day delivery with a 1hr window. ebuyer gives free delivery over £50 but its 5 day delivery. I know which one I would choose
Pain isn't the right word for Aria. Think more excruciating. Still trying to get my bloody motherboard board and processor repaired and sent back from them after 6 weeks
The think I don't like about Aria is their poor product selection. There are 5 580 GTXs to choose from at Aria, there are 26 at Scan.
It's Scan for my money... Used to be Aria, but Scan gave better customer service. The free delivery also sweetens the blow for me. Might be worth waiting till Wednesday if you are considering Overclockers. They have a weekly deal which starts Wednesday morning. Scan usually put the gfx cards on Today only over the weekend, so miught be worth waiting till the next weekend. The power supplies SEEM to go on less frequently, but do so. You always used to be able to request items to go on the deal for the day.... I can't find a shortcut now, but it might be worth asking them, so you can save a few more pennies.
