The paintjob is awesome! I love this mod, it´s something different to the others I´ve seen the last months. Do you have some more infos/pics of the yellow beauty in the background?
Umm ya lol. That would be my other hobby. Restoring musclecars. That one is a 1969 SS396 Chevelle. It has a 468 c.i.d. engine with 538 h.p. I have kept this one for a long time. I restored it about 18 years ago in a dirty garage with basic tools when I was poor lol. It has a lot of sentimental value to me because I used it to carry my 2 little ones around as I was restoring it and we had some fun times. Here's a full pic - It's no Wonder Woman case but it does better burn offs
Lol yea that's true. It drinks a lot of gas. My license plate reads " OUTAGAS " And for some reason the back tires wear out waaayyyy faster than the front ones do so I always need new ones. Thanks Angel! I was really shocked when I saw my name for MOTM. That's exciting for sure. All votes will be appreciated definitely. And a HUGE thank you to the admins for selecting me. I'll be back with more updates tonight. See you then.
Wow! Amazing mod.. paintjob is really nice and my mum would go crazy for it too ! The work put into all the little details are amazing too!
Quick update - I would like to thank Sapphire for sponsoring me and furnishing me with a video card. Thank you. Please check them out here - http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/index.aspx?lid=1 They are providing me with a Flex Radeon HD 6870
wow... great job with the case. you turned a crapy looking case into something beatufill. congrats on the MOTM nomination
Lol...um thanks? I went ahead and bench tested all the hardware and then loaded the OS, did all the updates, loaded games etc. so that it would be done and ready to go after final assembly. I was very pleased when it booted right up and ran great, no errors, no smoke, etc. Looks like hell but hey, it's a work table. Then I turned my attention to the hanger for the wiring. I wanted a gold hanger that looks like her belt clip. So I dug through my stash and found some flat bar - Looks like it will work. So after a little quick bending around a pipe for the right radius and some sanding- Then a coat of gold to finish it off - I mounted it on the drive bay shield so that it should be clear of everything and the wires will loop around it and end up the perfect length - I'll need to install this almost last so I'm off to do more modding. I added a mirror to the bottom of the case - Not sure why - I guess I just can't stop - Then it was bugging me that I could see the green edge of the ram so it needed an adjustment. A quick and real easy mod. Ahhh much better...no more green - I went ahead and did the final install on the drives/controllers and hooked up the fans and temp sensors. Everything is well hidden and this case is great to work with for places to run wiring. Waiting on a couple things for now - more soon.
Thank you Stonie. When I got it there was only a bare frame and empty gutted out rear body shell. It was free because nobody thought it could be anything. I saved it from the crusher!
Almost there!!! I am sooo close to being complete. I got the sleeving in the mail a day early. Thank you UPS! I sleeved my 6 foot cables - And now to stuff it all in there - There's not as many cables as it looks. I have a mirrored floor so it looks like there's millions of cables in the pic. I will be straightening the wires a little but I'm still making sure everything is where I want it before I lock it all down. All my fans and led's are working great. I had switched a lot of led's around. Now I have red/white/blue continuity. I mounted the Danger Den led strips to the inside of the door facing inward so they will be the most effective. I am doing all the little touch ups now. I had to modify a fan for clearance and cut through a wire of course! If Murphy's law kicks in at any time during this build I will find this "Murphy" character and beat him senseless! I'm not havin it. I will take some good shots of it all together by tomorrow night.
I have buttoned it up and shot a few pictures. I ran into a paint boo boo and have had to do some last minute touch up that is giving me trouble but it will be ok. So here are some decent shots of it fired up with the lights running. Vid Card is not in there yet obviously. But soon. . . . .
Well I have completed this build. The video card is in. The wires are complete. It is running great. I took it to a big lan party and case mod competition this last weekend and got 2nd place. I knew it would be a difficult decision for the judges once I saw the other mods. There were some very nice and creative mods there. Now I must hand it over to my very patient wife.. Thanks everyone for watching and commenting on this build. I have many more in the works. So here are the final pics I took. I just shot a lot of random pics from different angles and with different lighting. I keep trying to get my wife to pose with the case for a picture but she's not having any part of that idea. So here you go - THE END -
Thanks guys. It is definitely nice to see some local guys on here. The internet is such a huge place but still it's a small world.
