yep ketchup. Just leave it on any kind of copper for 2 mins and rub it with kitchen paper and you'll see the magic

 

going to install the blocks on the RE3 now. just took 2 pic of the RE3 to show you guys.

 

I believe the active ingredient is vinegar?

 

Nah i dont think so. I tried pure vinegar but it didnt do anything.
I put ketchup on it and the ketchup turned black after few mins, you dont even have to rub it.

someone from dangerdan on their forum asked me to use ketchup lol

 

You realize that you probably have ketchup under the plexi edge still, and the rig will smell like a hamburger when it heats up, right?

 

probably was the whole idea... who doesnt love a hamburger??? mind you though it will make you hungry all the time smelling it. lol

 

@cheapskate. i'll take it apart and clean it from inside later. i was just testing the if ketchup would really work. i still have to clean the inside =)

Really pissed off again

I've put all the parts together and guess what i seeeeeeeeeeeee. 4 to 5 big fingerprints under my plexi on the copper ram block. EK have a sticker on the side saying "void warranty if seal is broken. how am i supposed to clean it then. ahhhhhhhh..arhhhhhhhh..



I want to ask them how they do their job. every block have fingerprints. arhhhhhhhhhh
not only fingerprints. look on the left side there is 1 long ugly line on it. its not even coming out. i dont wanna use ketchup on a brand new block.

send 'em to scotland yard, if they're not from Murdoch you'll know who is the guilty

 

Can you run some rubbing alcohol, even diluted, through the block? I don't know much about watercooling, but if the alcohol won't destroy your block then it should be able to remove the fingerprints. The line/scratch is very visible in the photo, I'd request a replacement since its supposed to be new. Why don't they wear gloves when assembling these things?

i had to use ketchup again and yeah it did the magic again..lol will show you few pic in a bit. my hands are still dirty from the ketchup. + yeah i wanna ask ek guys same question. i dont wanna send it back.. gonna take me ages to get another 1. i hope the ek guys are watching this ..=(

The more i look at it the more i think they sent me a usded copper block =(




Now this makes me =), i wanna clean the motherboard block too lol.. but nah.. can't take it apart again now.. its on the motherboard already. =(

 

Wow that is amazing. Some companies should put some ketchup packs, like the ones you get at McDonald's or so, with their blocks if you buy them.

How did you find that out?

Tom ketchup contains acid that will effect the out come of any dye.... please make sure you rinse your system properly and use Bicarb if needed to get rid of it all ...

 

Hi michael. Thanks. Ketchup did help clean my blocks but then it also left alot of acid on the blocks. Now whatever i put in my loop the color changes. =(

Is there anyother easy way to fix this without taking the loops apart now? =(

 

For those who dont know what me and Michael are talking about.....

i was in the middle of my build but things turn bad firt 1 of my gpu stop working. so now have to use only 1 4870x2 and now the color changes in loop.. no metter what dye i put it the loop, the color would change. i'll link a video i made for michael. The water in the loop is the same water i'm mixing in the video. once it goes in the loop the color change to purple
