Not sure if the front intake would be efficient. Like some1 mentioned u need a blower type of arrangement. OR In tru jet engine style, double up the fans and fit opposite facing "stator" blades between the fans. That would help pressurize the air.
Thx for all the nice comments! i was thinking exactly that when i started this True! actually the Delta i took out of my old system has this thats why its quite noisy so you say i need an additional fan behind this to improve flow? I had that but i removed it later
Yes. The High velocity-Low pressure air created by the fan gets converted into low velocity- High pressure air through the stator blade. A bank of these as well as the decreasing area of the nozzle pressurizes the air in a jet engine. If you want to go with that front intake, you WILL have to put some more "pressure" into the air to travel through those ducts.. For less noise you could mod the stator in the fan pictured above to a less agressive profile..
Thx for the tip, currently trying different setups, there has to be a trade-off somehwere though to keep the noise to a minimum, im currently figuring that one out. In the mean time here are some progress shots: more follows
The part above shows the core of the engine, this ring is somewhat smaller so that when the engine parts are joined together, you'll see the wiring and misc parts ''under the hood'', i cut abt 2 cm off the front part to create this effect.
