Windows Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial

Also, shameless request to mooch off someone's alpha account for a little bit this weekend. I'm located in the U.S, so I can very easily play while everyone across the pond is asleep.

Are we allowed to discuss our findings of the Alpha, or not?

I'm still trying to find one that will toggle aim instead of having to hold it down

 

id imagine you'd be allowed to discuss your experiences just not reveal any details about the game, i know when i was helping beta test fm 2010 and subsequent patches, they were happy for us too talk about how good it was or bad but we couldnt talk about features, layout gameplay or anything like that.

 

good: feel of game, feel of battlefield, sound

bad: spawn menu, loadout menu, inability to chat during 60 seconds score viewing period, chat window cannot be toggled and overlays on top of killfeed.

and bad experience: assault/engineers sitting behind a rock, taking pot shots, not moving up. i play recon and i often find myself being the point man, with a sniper rifle!

 

Technically, the terms of the Alpha state you're only allowed to reveal two things:

a) An Alpha exists.

b) You're in the Alpha.

 

Only just finished the download myself. Sleepless weekend, here I come!

It does actually seem that everyone here is in the trial in some way or another .

We all need to group up and storm the metro together before the trial ends .

 

i just went to the website registered and then got asked if i wanted a alpha trial and i said hellya anyone else happy i tried just this second and am downloading you might just get in if you try

 

so now the alpha is over. any news on the beta? ^^

Can anyone tell me what the VRAM utilisation is with BF3 Alpha @ 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 with all settings maxed, 8xAA, 8xAF (or higher)?

I am planning to upgrade my monitor and reckon that my 768MB GTX 460 SLI setup won't cope with BF3 at higher resolutions.

And fingers the Alpha is locked to medium settings(?) max so not sure on AA or AF.. can play in 1920x1080 on a GTX 275 though Well tbh not sure what the settings are it looks nice.

Making it all a secret means that participants are doing their marketing for them. Look how many people are hanging out for even the smallest tid-bits about the game that are slipping out. 'Tis all part of modern viral marketing strategy
