Click here for cringe. I have not been on bit-tech in a long long while and I am sure plenty has changed. But when I saw this, I knew the ever hungry need for cringey idiocy would remain strong at BT towers. Fire away lads and laddettes.
The swastika was and is used for representing various ideas all over the world for thousands of years. Just because the Nazi party used it for a brief approximately 15 year period, should not immediately link the symbol to them when it is seen. Therefore there is nothing 'cringe worthy' about it. It's period, context and cultural meaning need to be taken into account, rather than jumping to a incorrect conclusion. Clearly the brick in the picture was for some other meaning, and has nothing to do with the Nazi party. Their only use of an elongated diamond was for the youth corps, and the position of the swastika is incorrect for that, as it is square rather than square diamond orientation.
I believe it was a symbol representing light and goodness, something Hitler based his actions on, such as "Making this a better world". Ironic how it turned out.
Absolutely nothing to do with the Swatstika. Just a massive fail on my part... The deep readings into my post amused me immensely however! Check your posts kids. This was what I wanted to show you all!
I assume they only want pre decimal donations. Stupid old idiots. How about we contact the chairman and send him on missions across the home counties to sort out metric signs that don't exist.
pff...dont i wish. you british and your damn metric system have been slowly infiltrating the purity that is the US measurements system for years. it only make sense that you have 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard, and 1,760 yards in a mile. maybe i should contact the fine folks at ARM about opening up a US headquarters....
