    Hi there

All New to this, but was hopping someone can point me into the right direction.. I have just currently finished a new custom built PC, spec as follows:-

Case - Corsair Obsidian Series 800D
    CPU - Intel Core i7 990x EXTREME GULFTOWN (6 x 3.46 GHz)
CPU Heatsink - Corsair Hydro Series H80
    RAM - Vengeance™ — 24GB Triple Channel DDR3 Memory Kit
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3GB
Motherboard - Asus Rampage III Black Edition (Intel X58)
Sound Card - Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 Deluxe True HDMI (PCI-E)
Networking - ThunderBolt LAN/Audio Combo Card
    PSU - Professional Series™ Gold AX1200
Fan Controller - NZXT Sentry LX Fan Controller
    HDD - 1TB WD

I have installed the new Corsair Hydro Series H80 liquid cooled heatsink but find it very loud.. So i would like to water cool both CPU and Graphics Card but not shore what i need or how to go about it..
Hope you can help me out

    Regards

    Jamie

    Hello there

First of all, this post should be in "Hardware" but I'll make sure a moderator moves it.

Have you tried turning down the fans on your H80? And making appropriate fan adjustments on your fan controller?

Try changing the fans on it to 2 scythe gentle typhoons 1850rpm.

Edit: the corsair 800d isn't a quiet case and are you sure its the h80 and not the fan on the 590

Wholly disagree with the last post. The 800d is a very quiet case actually due to the lack of mesh.

As fdbh96 suggested you should try changing the fans on it. Instead of Gently Typhoons, you might want to look at a pair of Delta's. With your fan controller you can turn them right down, but still have tons of cooling potential left if the going gets tough.

I thought aluminium was meant to be louder than steel/plastic

It's not just the materials used that make a case quiet though buddy. It's quality of construction, gauge of metals or plastics used, number and position of air vents... the list goes on.

Don't get me wrong, the 800D is far from silent but it's very quiet.

Swap the fans for a Gentle Typoon or Asaka Apache. :thumb:

You obviously didn't read my signature block... (I have 800D with GTs)

I love how people love to comment on things without any real experience of the item in question just to appear knowledgeable.

Can you get some pics up? I'd like to see your setup as it's very similar to mine. :thumb:

Thats it Pete, you go pimping yourself mate....lol

I reckon some one should edit it and turn it in to a sticky. But still leave the one in your thread to run.

Yeh, I've been trying to push for it, but I'm getting nowhere. May have to harass one of the mods.

Hi, i have played around with the settings on the H80 and made sure that the airflow is correct.. as noted i had to change air flow due to installed fans wrong way so the airflow was incorrect, now seems a lot quieter now its fixed... Airflow and fan settings on 590 are all correct and running quite... Fan controller is set on Auto, changes the speed of fans depending on temp near fans...

Airflow within the case is as follows:-

I have kept the airflow as corsair have installed within case and have mounted H80 on the top of the case, sucks cold air in while over fan pushes heat back into case..

    Temperature using Piriform Speccy :-

    CPU - Idle 23 - 24c
    Motherboard - Idle 12 - 15c
    HDD - Idle 30 -32c

Fan Controller - NZXT Sentry LX Fan Controller

    Fan 1 700RPM - 26.5c
    Fan 2 700RPM - 26c
    Fan 3 800RPM - 25.3c

Sentinel-R1 - i will get some pictures up today, how do i go about uploading pictures lol? sorry all new to this cheers
