This I like! Someone who doesn't use the same placement design as me or Laine when working in a Fractal-Design Array. It's a really nice and creative build you've there. Keep it up!

It's a cool and hellishly gorgeous stock case. But it's equally hellish to build with and the anodized black scratches really easily. But I have faith in you ability and you've already done stuff I'd never thinked off. You build it thinking 3-dimensional and I think that it's the absolutely right approach to make everything fit and look nicely composed.

The stock PSU is not really mod-able from what I've heard so I wouldn't add any connectors to it. I added some on my be-quiet 350w SFX and it has worked properly in about a year with my i5 750 and HD5870. :)

    Thanks for the tip :)

I always wanted to replace the PSU with a stronger one because I'm installing a GTX260 and the power supply have not enough watt.
Perhaps i use the Newton R2 650W from Fractal Design ;-)

nice work but when i first saw this thread i thought confusis had started his latest build because he has been using the aurora name for so long, like well over 2 years and a few builds / designs / etc under it.

    aurora http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=179350&highlight=project+aurora
    think_micro (aurora 2 during planning IIRC) http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=197451&highlight=project+aurora
    phobya aurora http://www.bit-tech.net//2011/02/08/phobya-design-a-case-competition/2
    aurora2 http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=185044&highlight=aurora

also the startup: Aurora Creative Studios NZ is owned by confusis

i only mention these because you asked confusis if there were any link to his work because you hadn't seen it.

That aside i really like this build, the use of felt is great, does it ain in reducing vibrations / sound dampening at all? are you planning on orange hoses for the loop and what colors are you sleeving the cables. The quality of work so far is great, definitively a mod i plan to follow as it progresses.

Very nice work from confusis ;)
But i investet a lot of time to find the right name for my mod.
I didn´t now that confusis had the same idea.

I don't know yet if it reduces vibrations or sound but when i finished my casemod i can tell you ;)
I will use clear hoses with orange cooling liquid. The cables should be sleeved in black with some orange in it.

And thanks at all for the links and the great comment ;)

Can't recommend orange liquid. It looks green against black backgrounds.

orange hoses would be best, the colored coolant can gunk up your blocks / rad / etc and sleeving the hoses meant u wont see easily if one collapses

    just my $0.02

    Some new ideas :)

Since my uncle kindly makes available his CNC machine for me, I can now very accurately engrave a logo in the front.
Here I have prepared a few sketches...
But I don't know which one I should take. That with the rounded or squared edges.

    Only the rounded edges:

At the left side the one with the rounded edges and at the right side the other one.

I'm curious about your opinions ;)

Number 1. is the hands down winner for me, why? The combination of straight lines and curved corners is reminiscent of the design of the case :thumb:

Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.

the first text concept compliments the case well with the curved corners so personally this is the font type to be using, only thing I'd work On further is the letter 'O'. The placement of the gap make it difficult to decipher even though I know what it says. If you were to write a full alphabet with this type face then I'd presume D would look similar maybe try the gap in the O at the middle bottom of the character.

Nice work by the way looking forward to see the progress!
