    Hi Guys,

After a new printer and been told to get an All in One unit,

    budget £100, any Ideas?

Not to bothered about photo printing,
    Main priority Text printing.
Does not need to WiFi but Ethernet yes.

    thanks for your time......

    Canon MG5150 - £49.99 from Amazon

I bought 2 a few months back - one for friend, the other for mother-in-law.

Built in duplex, 5 ink tanks, great reviews.

If you need a networked version, the 5250 model covers that and is £79 at Currys/Dixons/Comet/John Lewis etc.

If your not bothered about colour either and text is a priority then I'd definitely think about going for a laser multifunction with an enclosed paper tray.

It may cost a little more, but in the longer term it'll be cheaper to run along with being quicker, need less maintaining and will in my experience be more reliable.

I have a networked Samsung laser for text and a networked inkjet multifunction for photos and colour, and frankly the inkjet is a pain in the ass while the laser just quietly sits there pumping out page after page quickly and reliably.

Lexmark has a printer with $5.00/7.00 black ink cartridges. They sell them for 99 ($7/black) and 199 ($5/black). The color ink is about the same price as every other brand, maybe more, but if you print mostly text it's a good deal. The $199 model comes with 5 year warranty.

Why didn't you get the Lexmark with the $5 ink if you went for Lexmark? You considered ink prices before buying right? Canon is not the worst but they are not the best in terms of prices. Perhaps they are refill friendly?

I used to have a Lexmark years ago, ink refills horrific price, still using a 7 year old epson stylus cx6600 and replacement inks only a few pounds each

I got an HP Officejet 6500n from Amazon for £100, it's got wireless and ethernet, memory card reader and individual cartridges. I can also print from my iPhone. Oh and after going on the HP site I got £40 cash back too so it only cost me £60 :D
