We still have to measure it, but it is still at the powdercoatingshop (nice word for Scrabble!). But don't think it is very heavy, because it is not! Give you the details once it is back from the shop!

It weighs 8.1kg. Not too bad in my opinion!

See attached the photo's after the powdercoating. We are not really satisfied with the coating so far (not visible on the photo's), so we brought the case back, so they can re-do the coating.

Wow! And it's light too...(By the look I thought the weight was at least double) Which defects do you encountered with the podwer coating? At a first glance it seems good.

There are 3 defects at this moment (all not visible on the photo's).
-On some places there was dust/dirt on the coating, which is visible and you can also feel it.
-There was a 'drop/bubble' of powedercoating on the PSU cover.
-On the pieces which are solderered there are small holes. Probably the stainless-steel sanding caused small pits in the softer solder. Those were not visible on the metal, but now are, due to the black.

The last issue is the least difficult to fix, but also the coating company will try to come with a solution for that problem. Problem 1 and 2 will be fixed when coated once more.

It look awesome so far. Shame they couldn't get the coating right the first time. But at least they're willing to give it another coat.

Really cool and intresting design, if it is okey with you I would like to borrow some of the designs, the "cut lines" if you understand what I mean, just the pattern on the PSU cover, all creeds go to you of course.

    And Subscribed btw :)

Of course that is okay. It would be an honour to see other people being inspired to our case-design. What else can we wish for! I am really anxious to see, how you will implement it in your project. Do sent me a link when you have started!

I makes me happy that I can borrow your design :)

I'm not really sure just yet how I will implement it, but I just knew that I wanted to implement it when I saw your design, but I will probably do it in plexi (easier to get hold of here) :hehe:

I'm liking this alot. I really like the unique motherboard mount.

I hope that round 2 of powdercoat goes well... I want to see more!

The case will be fixed this Tuesday. Hopefully it is just fine, they charged us 75 euro additional (first round was 45 euro).

The Exo-S is back from the coater!

A few pictures of the person who solved all problems. It took him over 6 hours, but we are happy with the result! The paint is still wet on the pictures, therefor it shines more than when the paint is dry.

I might have missed something, but isnt powder coating where you put the hole thing into a electic fluid where the paint will stick to the metal and then throws it into an oven to cure? :D

Not necessarily. Some coaters use special powder coating guns that charge the particles and then blast them onto the subject.

    Not necessarily... See below ;)

And like I said before we had some issues and therefor they have coated the case (in the first place) and after that they 'sealed' it, filled it, sand it and after that put a special paint on it.

So it is not only powdercoating anymore! Nevertheless it is as strong as powdercoating and the colour is what we expected!
