Got a good deal, brand new I got it for £140 and it sells for £170. Its not wireless but if i do get another one thats wireless I can buy the wireless chip and put it in and ill still be up on the deal

Its pretty good, a load stronger than the old power head

my super cheap auto top up arrived the other day, its just a float valve with a acrylic mount

Got a pair of African clawed frogs for Snort to snort in the general direction of. When I get their tank properly sorted, I'll post some pics. Interesting little buggers.

@Samkiller - You can put a tank in front a window like that? Here I'd have boiled fish if the sun could touch them.

That's the difference between Texas and the English coast, it's not as warm here. The tank has a blue backing on it, and will also have a 25mm layer of Polystyrene across the back, to help insulate it.

    Cheers,

Ah right, Should work well then, think after a while, It seems dosing is the only way forward with large Marine set-ups.

I'm only leaning towards the GHL because i have a Profilux P2, so it seems a natural move.

Been working on my tank's plumbing, which is fun.... not, Only need a couple of parts, and i mean less than 5 individual bits, and it should be going before long, woo. I have a little over 5 weeks before i pick up my 300 Cardinal Tetras too, so things need to swing into motion.

Yeh dosing of some sort has to be done, if you are letting levels go down then adding water at the same conentration to bring them back up over time you are just diluting the levels.

yeh if you have a ghl unit you may aswell just get the dosing unit. if i went with GHL Id have to get the standalone unit which is pricey

Its a great skimmer, way better than the V2. It has a pin wheel impeller and the air is introduced before the pump, the body of the skimmer is full of bubbles. Its pulling out more in a day than the V2 did in a week. Its alittle sensitive to water height changes but i ordered a bulk head to fix up my simple auto top next week

Its reduced the amount of particles floating in my tank too.

The sender only put a $50 value on the box so not duty :D the guy that sent the doser did the same

Hopefully the skimmer will help with my algae problems, or atleast work with the reactor to bring down phosphates
