    Hi Guys,

the dog has managed to break my saitek GX20 headset by jumping off my lap,
and ripping the cables outta the inline volume as she did :wallbash:

never mind, not her fault really.

i need a replacement for it though,
and i'm not really sure what's decent out there.

ideally i'd like one that cups my ears and doesn't press the glasses against the side of my head too hard.
    And ideas?

oh yes budget, max i would want to spend is £60 ish, be happier with the £25 mark.
    Cheers

You might be able to get a set of Audio Technica AD700s for that. They are really good for directional sound and are super comfortable even with glasses on (6+ hours without any strain)

    Thanks for the suggestion The_Beast,

one issue is there isn't a microphone on them!,
looking about the £80 - 90 mark for those too?

use my headset for gaming and in game comms on the pc (3.5mm jacks or usb not an issue)

What about the new corsair vengeance 1300? It looks teh sex:

I'm using the Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3d Sigma (quite a mouthful, I realise) and have absolutely no complaints, it has the option of being 3.5mm or usb (though the usb is better) it's comfortable and isn't garish looking. Would recommend it highly:

I was going to suggest a ATH-AD700 or a AKG K601 ... but just read about the mic as I know they are both super comfy with glasses).

Just a question ? Don't you have a webcam that can be used for its mic ? I did that to play on steam (AKG K701 for the sound and my wc for the mic).

The AKG K-240 studio are nice too :

Dang, I paid ~100USD for my set, UK prices are really high. BTW if you did get them, just get a cheap desktop mic, that's what I use and no one complains about sound quality

yeap our prices are higher (always quoted with sales tax)

webcam mic's aren't brill from experience and means i'll have to talk up, something the missus wont appreciate while she's watching telly

leaning towards a set of Razor carcharias - http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/peripherals/2011/01/21/razer-carcharias-review/1
but they're still around the £70 mark from what i can see,

i might just get another set of saitek GH20's for about £20 instead and suffer the vice like grip for a few months again :duh:

money unfortunately is an object :duh::rolleyes:
