    Looking verrry good Phil. Nice.

And there's nothing wrong with a Thundertusk liking flowers.

    Nothing wrong at all.

    Very warlike in fact.

My Dreanought failed to arrive in the post today.

And I was hoping to have it assembled and primed this weekend. :waah:

Hey ho. I can always play Space Marine while I'm waiting.

Smile nicely at your local GW staff, see if they have a spare Valkyrie base - that's what I'm going to use

In failing that, they're seven odd quid on ForgeWorlds site >.>

I built up some parts of my core squads for the RS today

Apothecary from the command squad with the legs from the dev squad, and the bolter arm from the dev squad commander. Multi-melta from the dev squad.

Thinking about a scenic base for the Apothecary, recovering a geneseed or something.

Looking good there, I think I would be tempted to cut everything off the plastic lines and redo them with some wire, they look far too fragile for comfort.

If anyone has seen the movie Laputa: The Floating Castle, then they should recognise this picture:

That provided me with the basic thought process for my Necron's colours. All the armour plates are going to be a nice kinda ceramic colour (the main body colour) and all the actual mechanicals under that are gonna be a nice polished brass/gold colour, and the glyph background is gonna be a nice bright red colour, with pale yellow/bone glyph. Basically like the picture.

Saying that though - my mates ones do look ultra-smart. Paint chainmail, 50/50 wash Asurmen Blue & Badab Black, tiny highlights of mithril on the raised edges.

Anywho - finally got around to cleaning up Harry The Hammer, and I went to my local GW for a bit of modelling assistance, but it was rammed with kids, so decided not to bother. Anywho, Chaos army for Fantasy kicking off tomorrow, so, the question is, anyone want some Ogres? ;)

    Talking about ogres...

    Finished the ogre rider tonight....

It's been a refreshing change to work with a non orc colour pallete , ogres are awesome models to paint , really well defined muscles makes highlighting a breeze...

I'm gonna get the morn-fang cavalry next pay day,,,, (spent enough aready this month and theres still plenty to do on this one yet , gonna spend a lot on time on the base)..

    one more zoomed out pic...

Phil - looking awesome dude! I just found a big ol' lump of slate at an angle, hot glued it to the base, and went down that route.

damn you all... i really want to build/convert/paint some 40k stuff now...

shame i have insufficient space to do any of the above [and IIRC the local GW won't let you do it in there any more]

They should do! Part of the hobby! They may have a designated day specifically for hobby activities, so it might be worth enquiring about that mate

My local GW is at Bluewater and it's a tiny shop, but they still let you build, paint & play - and sometimes all at the same time.

one of my local used to - Newcastle had a whole upper floor full of gaming tables with one end for painting/modelling but from what I hear they stopped people going up there [except for tournaments and whatnot] because they didn't have enough staff to watch over both floors.

the other one [Metro Centre] it depended on who was in at the time as to if they'd let you or not.

EDIT: right now I'm trying to scrounge bitz for [potentially] a couple of SM character conversions... problem is a fair few of the bits i want/need are from FW... sods law dictates to get the bits I'd want for 3 characters I'd need to buy >£100 of kits.

Like many things so many plans, so little money.

Why not contact them and ask if they'll just sell you the bits you need?

Yes, they are business people, but they are gamers and modellers too, and they may be happy to help.
