Yup. 448 core. that's the name. and that's apparently what's going to be different than the "vanilla" 560 Ti (not to be confused with the vanilla 560 (non-Ti)).

Being an nvidia fanboy, and not wanting to wait for Keppler 700 series hitting store shelves sometime xmas 2012 (Q2 2012 is 600 series, which is mobile/low performance Keppler), I think this is my next card. i need to upgrade to play BF3 properly..........

    discuss?

Given the price hike over a standard 560Ti, why not get a 570? Seems a bit of a useless addition to the already confusing line up to me.

I thought they were supposed to be around the same price point as the vanilla? Not sure on that one though.

My bad then, I just assumed they'd be more expensive. If not, then awesome :D However, given that a normal 560Ti can overclock to 570 levels and 570s aren't that much more for a basic one, I still don't see where this card will fit in.

I'm not completely sure myself TBH mate, on the pricing or where it fits in.

They do have some form of this don't they with the 4 series before, slightly altering specs and squeezing it in?

Ah, that's where I got the idea about pricing:

the problem with me, specifically me... is 560Ti is nice, but there seems to be quite a gap between it and 570. sure, u can try to overclock it to get close to it, but u can also oc the 570 as well.

in Canada, their price difference is $100. 560 is about $180, 560Ti is about $220, and 570 is about $320.

i'm torn between spending $220 but might get outdated in about a year when Keppler700 is out; or spend $100 more..... which is by all means, not a small amount of money.

with this though, it WILL for sure end up higher than $220, (say, $250 - $275?) but it will be soooo close to 570 that some factory oc is probably worth the $50 increase, but not $100 jump to 570...............

in summary, i feel like 570 is a better investment at this point than the 560Ti. but i just dont want/cant spend the extra $100. And thats where this "poor man's 570" comes in

Will see where this one comes out at before upgrading, I mean in terms of price and performance.

First hint at the 560 Ti 448 core being nearly as powerful as a 570 but for less moneez.

cant imagine this won't be north of $250. a 6950 2 gb competitior/beater...they would be stupid to not charge $275-$300. unless amd does get their 7xxx series cards out by then, and the 6950 drops in price to sub $250 levels (almost there with powercolor and mir's)

It's allegedly coming out at roughly the same pricepoint as the original 560Ti.

Whether that's the case, guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Friendly advise; I would strongly advise getting in quick if you want one.

Thanks for that Bindi, although I'm wondering why that would be....

TBH if one comes bundled with BF3 and it's on pre-order I think I'll snag one up.

Edit: Just read an article suggesting there'll be less than 10,000 of these available worldwide.

That's the thing isn't it, too pricey and you may as well go for a 570 or wait to see what the 7000 series can do.

Surprised Nvidia got a tight lid on this one with only 2 days until the proposed release!
