Hello, Need to get a new psu, a modular one. Are be quiet psu's ok? I only seem to buy psu's about every 4 - 5 years so it needs to be good enough to last that long. will need to power the rig in my sig, but I am thinking about getting 560ti sli so it will need to have the capacity to power those should I decide to do that. I am thinking about this psu http://www.scan.co.uk/products/630w...us-bronze-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx Open to any suggestions though - so fire away!
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/beQuiet/PurePower_L8_730W/ They have fairly short cables at 45cm to the first connector, so not really suitable for a large case with the PSU mounted at the bottom if you want tidy cable management. I think they are probably overpriced for what they offer.
Simple, the Corsair AX series (they are Seasonic's X Gold series re-branded (so cheaper)). They are so power efficient (90%), that at idle the fan doesn't spin as it's not warm enough to need to. And even when it does spin under heavy load. the fan will be quietest one in your entire computer by far. Really high end fan is used in there. Plus, it's fully modular, and it come with a crazy 7 year warranty. http://www.corsair.com/power-supply-units/professional-series-gold-power-supply-units.html
I've had to RMA two BeQuiet! PSUs within their 3 year warranty periods - hustomer service was fine except the posting to Germany bit, but do you really want the hassle? Personally I'd go for whoever offers the longest warranty, which appears to be Corsair at 7 years. Jeff
