The one game i personally go back to time and time again is - UFO Enemy Unknown, just pure awesomeness
I remember that game from a demo disk I had on the Atari ST. Always meant to pick it up at some point but never did. Space Invaders & Pac-man.
Teris Deus Ex Crysis (original, and Warhead) Frozen Synapse GTA games Mirror's Edge was good for quick thrills, can't say i'd go back to it for longer than 30min though.
FFVII (lost count the number of times i've ran through that) Sonic 1 Theme park (hmmmm think I had more time as a kid to play through games more than once )
Totally agree with this - I love the over saturated colours and the general look of the game, but for playability it's definitely not something that holds appeal for very long.
Dungeon Keeper 2 Fallout 3 (modded) Fallout New Vegas (modded) (What?! ) Thief series GTA series HOMM series
FF7 nothing comes close...... MGS is good to Anno1404..............Diff every time tho. And if i had time I would say ME1 (skiping the mako stuff) n 2 GalCiv 2 is also a personal favorite...best AI in a strat game ever.
Are we doing SP only games, or are SP games that have MP option included? If so..... Red alert (I and II) Tiberian Sun Minecraft I 2nd Chip's Challenge. With Level Packs 2 and 3 out, it becomes even more awesome.
Multiplayer counts, the whole mark of a good multiplayer game is its replayability. With that in mind, World of Warcraft gets a big mention for holding my attention continuously for literally years. My ingame play time is somewhere in the region of two or three months now it compensates for its lack of difficulty and its horrible playerbase with sheer range of appeal and amount of content. I've found Team Fortress 2 to be thoroughly disappointing on replay value, as it's so childishly simple and easy to master that it gets boring within a few days. I got the hang of each class, had a bit of fun, and then felt like I'd done everything. I only have about 20 hours playtime on it. It is free now, though, so I guess there's no complaint there.
This. Transport Tycoon with mods XCom Terror from the Deep. Deus Ex (everyone someone mentions it, someone reinstalls it) and Mafia but only after 5 year gaps. Real replayable games! In fact I want to reinstall TT once I get home RE4: **** **** STHISTSHISTHSTISHIT I forgot to bring my Gamecube over to Taiwan! I have all the Resident Evil games on GC that I need to replay. I CANNOT play RE4 on the PC, it needs a GC controller - same as RE0. The problem with RE4 on the PC is that it looks like absolute shite: low detail, lots of blur, no AA and terrible upscaling.
You thought you'd mastered each class within a couple of days on TF2? The whole point of TF2 is it's easy to pick up, but difficult to get good at. Think you were playing on the wrong servers unless you're some kinda gaming god... Pharaoh/Industry Giant 2 are two games I love coming back to
This is actually so true it's unreal All of the above. Both definitely worth an honourable mention. I'm more of a Freecell guy though. Other than that, I'd say CnC Red Alert, I end up installing that every now and again. And Team Fortress 2, but that's probably due to the mass amounts of updates rather than the core gameplay itself. Still fun as hell.
