That time of the year is almost upon us which means a trip to the grandparents resulting in 2 things: No PC and no Internet so anyone got any recommendations for single-player only games for the 360... ideally ones i can pick up cheap... not so hot on driving games or SF/MK/Tekken like button spam fighting games for reference some of the games i already have/played: Arkham Asylum Mass Effect [1+2] Oblivion [didn't like it so don't bother recommending skyrim ] Lost Odyssey Blue Dragon Just Cause EDIT: Retail or Arcade/On-demand, either is ok [i can download them before i go]
GTA IV? Crackdown 2? Do you have a laptop? Because there are some awesome, simple games available. Edit: 1000th post! Spent helping someone = awesome.
Saints Row 1/2 The Darkness Chronicles of Riddick? Crackdown Command & Conquer 3? These should all be bargain bin games by now, if you can find them.
Played GTA4... 10 minutes later later that day i was on my way back to the store to trade it in... awful game... Have Crackdown, it was fun might see if any of the local places have #2 can't get a copy of saints row 2 anywhere locally but i did enjoy it what i played of it, the first one though never appealed for some reason... riddick and the darkness are possibilities, didn't care for c+c3 on the PC... can't see it being any better on the 360...
10 minutes was an exaggeration... i got as far as the first fist-fight IIRC and hated every moment of it... EDIT: no laptop... parents sold mine without telling me
in order... Yes i have... ...eew [played it on PC, multiplayer over LAN was a laugh at uni, that was about it...] yes... 1 and 2 didn't like the first one, haven't played the second
Well, likely budget candidates are; Just Cause 2 - if you liked the first then maybe you'll like the second! Dead Space 1 & 2. Infamous Assassins Creed 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. The Saboteur Bioshock 1 & 2 I would say Fallout 3 and Fallout NV but you hated oblivion, so not sure if you will like these. All the above I have played and enjoyed immensely (Apart from Dead Space 2 which I skipped).
noted played both dead spaces noted played AC2 noted played the first one, not the second loved f3 and NV on the PC, was hopeless trying to play it with a controller... mouse/kb Cheesecake... i know oblivion and the bethesda fallouts are along the same lines... i just found oblivion mind numbingly dull... what about jrpgs? liked lost odyssey and blue dragon was ok [once you muted the annoying voice acting] anyone played Tales of Vesperia, FF13 etc.?
Ninja Gaiden 2 - Never has slicing off peoples limbs been so awesome (trust me those multi-rocket ninjas deserve it). Defense Grid - Tower defense Shadow Complex - 2d/3d platform
The Darkness was awesome, waiting for #2 now Viva Piniata (it might like like a kids game, but it is fun) Castlevania: Lords of Shadows Orcs must Die (xbla) tower defence/fps Mass Effect / Mass Effect 2 TES IV: Oblivion Eternal Sonata Red Faction 2 DeathSpank (1st was brilliant, got slightly fed up of the 2nd though) Borderlands
Red Dead Redemption, cowboys, nuff said. Just Cause 2, the most fun you will EVER have with a grappling hook. Dead Space 2, freaky game with some jumpy moments, a couple of times I near shat myself.
possibly not on 360 noted possibly noted noted played them both played it noted RF2 isn't on the 360... or were you on about RF: Armageddon? noted noted no... just... no... noted played it
Vanquish - is to a video game as snacks are to meals. It's all about fast paced shooting and whirling. Good if you like the games that allow you to reach round the back your head to press the off button. It's longevity is measured by how much replay you'll get out of it though. My empirical favorite game is Ico, it's not on 360 but is one hell of a brilliant platform game.
Stop being stupid and buy Skyrim. It's considerably better than Oblivion and is pretty much the sole reason why I've spent bugger all time talking to you on MSN or playing WoTs since its release.
I will... at some point... when all the bugs are quashed and they've got all the DLC out of the way... but I'm looking for games i can pick up relatively cheaply... skyrim doesn't fall in that category [yet]...
