    Hi All,

Is it safe to cut-off the excess pipes of the CPU cooler? Is it true that there is a special gas inside these pipes? Well, the reason I'm asking is because the CPU cooler doesn't fit on Lian-Li PC-A04 because there is a one or two millimeter excess due to those pipes from the cooler. Your help is very much appreciated.

    Many thanks! :worried:

Safe? Yes. You won't have a working heatsink though.

    Yes.

Crap! That's too bad! Thank you! Does anyone know of a CPU cooler similar to Hyper 212 but with smaller height, like maybe 156mm but has 120mm fans that can be replaced?

There is no gas inside the pipes of heatpipe coolers - it's a liquid that evaporates as the cooler heats up.

Still, cutting the pipes is not recommended!
