    Thanks:hehe:

All I had to go on was a filename of 38.gif from http://www.blaffert.net. Now if there had been an image it may have been easier. Either that or my google-fu is weak because it seemed to take me ages to find that info. Call it lazy sunday syndrome.

Man, i know the original line. That is why the TV version comes in my mind instead - because it is way too stupid :D.
The original line is somewhat motivating. The TV version is demotivating. :D

    5-Dimensional Graph

4 Independent Parameters with 1 Dependent output

This is for my Aerospace Design Senior project involving multi parameter optimization of a rocket that we designed, built, and launched. The Axes are labelled accordingly, each circle around a point represents a thrust vector, and the colors represent the associated value of the cost function. The smallest cost is considered the optimal point on the graph.

What demotivated me about that graph is the fact you are using inches at Uni.

pssssssshhhh what is this 'metric system' anyway? 568ml of beer sir? Nope, I'll take a pint please :p

The metric system is the whole reason why festivals in France server beer in 250ml sippy cups, pointless!

Akkatha, no one says that :). People ask for small beer or big beer, same with other kinds of alcohol. No one asks for quarter of liter of XY :D.

I'll have a litre of XY please. What's the problem?

On a more serious note whilst I can perfectly adept at using imperial units from work (we use both imperial and metric which can get quite confusing!) I typically use metric for everything other then long distances/speed and alcohol.

Oh and I'm pretty sure the equations used for the graphs are simpler with the metric system!

Todays strip from my favorite comic "LUNCH", it is originally in Norwegian, but I translated it so you would get the joke :)

    Notice my location...

We tend to use Metric for everything else but all the data we gathered was in inches so we kept it that way... I prefer to work in metric units but since most of the numerical calculations could use either we just decided to stick with Imperial units. Our prof said that he wanted a max altitude in feet so imperial was the way we went.

On another note, the program we used had defaults set as inches and the weight set in kg. Not Kosher at all.

Whenever there is a new scale introduced the law of beer states that you should always round up the size to the nearest whole. in this case one litre.

Come on the Germans at least always understood this. but yet again it is France, so I guess logic does not apply. :D

I still do most of my design work in imperial. Too many years of reinforcement to start using a different system, perceived improvement or no. Some of the best engineering in the world was done with it, it's fine for me. It also mens I don't have problems communicating with someone here making something for me.

Actually isn't some of the best engineering in the world measured in cubits?
