Love the visible white edge. It makes the case look smaller having a light border around the dark faces.

 

the cnc guys you were talking about are epic pc cases

Mini update

I've been working on fine tuning the bending of the internal part of the case . I'm trying to improve the accuracy of the tabs etc .

So yet another template , turned through 90 degrees so that the coloured panel is on the front . I've also put in the mounting points for the standoffs etc



A slight change to the strip heater ... these bits hold the wire in position more accurately .

So after many templates , jigs and remakes of templates and jigs and trial pieces and slightly different trial pieces ......



I finally feel like I'm getting this sorted

The internal and front and back bits for two cases .... both the same size ( the right size ) , both square and they match each other






So next to sort out is the cut out for the I/O plate then on to the cover and some sort of ventilation .

 

Last thing for today .... cut out for the I/O plate .

 

Too bad your not in the US. I'd deff pay for one of those little cases!

Great looking little case.
So I'm assuming the power would come from a mini-psu or what did you have in mind?

 

How much would one of these be to buy? They look great and I'm definitely interested in one of the little guys!

 

I love this, its the absolute opposite of my build but im intrigued and its making me like the idea of a miniature PC more the more I see. I could replace my slow Nas box with one. Im subbed!

 

yep a pico psu or a motherboard with onboard power .

I'm not 100% sure on costs yet , when I've worked out the size of the cover etc I can get prices from the laser cutters . The whole thing really comes down to that cost .

Thanks GuilleAcoustic it's been an interesting thing to learn .... quite a big difference between just bending a bit of acrylic and getting the bend in exactly the right place with the right angle . The strip heater really does make a massive difference so thanks again for your link back on page 1

 

Well I've been working on the cover today . I've got the main part of it sorted out .



I can get a fit that I'm happy with cutting it on the table saw . I'm hopeful that it will be ok with the laser cut ones as it needs to be pretty accurate to get a good fit .

Just the ventilation to work out now and I can send drawings of to the laser cutters
