Tried a long exposure yesterday, it has been quite a few years since my last try, but I'm pretty pleased of the result. No, it didn't came out of the camera like this, I tweaked it a bit in Aperture and cropped it square.
That's very cool. I've been wanting to do a shot like this myself, I've just got to find a good location (and get a decent tripod). Did you use an ND filter on this?
Funny you should ask, no I didn't use a ND filter. I bought one last summer, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Forgot to bring it when I went out for this shot. Had to get up to F11/ISO50 to get a long enough exposure to catch enough lights. Should go back when there is more traffic or with my ND filter, to get a smaller DOF. The location is pretty good thing (at least I think so). cheers
So went to a club last night, didn't like it, but had already spent £15 on drinks, so decided to get my phone out and see what I could get. They're not brilliant, but it's a phone camera.
Now that uni has finished for the year I have finally got some time to myself to enjoy some photography. Here are a few shots I took recently: Tree Moss by JasonBottin, on Flickr Lens Flare by JasonBottin, on Flickr Blue Wren - Female by JasonBottin, on Flickr Amber Lamp by JasonBottin, on Flickr Amber Lamp (Close Up) by JasonBottin, on Flickr Let me know what you think. @ mars-bar-man - They looks pretty damn good to me for a phone camera.
Really like the 1st and 4th. I find the 3rd is a little too generic 'teenager with a nikon' for me though, would have been better with the bird facing the camera, but wildlife is a pita. Great shots though! Yeah, they don't look too bad at this size, but when they're full res you can really see where the camera shows it's mobile nature.
Went to Waddesdon Manor today: Waddesdon 2011-111 by OmegaPoint, on Flickr Waddesdon 2011-167 by OmegaPoint, on Flickr Waddesdon 2011-172 by OmegaPoint, on Flickr Green-Naped Pheasant Pigeon by OmegaPoint, on Flickr Waddesdon 2011-072 by OmegaPoint, on Flickr Whole set
you can never have enough lens flare sorry it's a very old joke and the first thought that came in to my head.
Been too busy to get the camera out much lately, but here are two shots I was pleased with from the weekend... excuse the high ISO A kid sitting on his dads shoulders eating candyfloss... That's the life Candyfloss by Rowan Griffin, on Flickr And one of my friends - I was lucky with the lighting for this one Miraca by Rowan Griffin, on Flickr Not really sure if i like that second photo because I like her, or if its actually a good shot
Thanks. I was very lucky to get the right lighting for that one; the cloud broke just at the right time. Also that is almost how it was from the camera, I only need to tweak the black levels and nudge the blue saturation up slightly.
Shag her and then live with her for 5 years. If you still like the photo then then you can be reasonably sure it's a good shot.
My daughter would love that, whisperwolf. She'd been singing songs from Nightmare Before Christmas since mid-October, and she's a big Jack Skellington fan.
Our tree, for some reason, has a distinctly Disney theme, Jack's my way of rebelling against the countless Mickeys and Eeyores. Unfortunately we now need two trees as Tink has been knocked off the top. Tink by whisperwolf, on Flickr
