so i want to buy a new TV this week but was wondering if anybody had used them before.

their prices often seem to be the cheapest and found a really good price on a samsung 3DTV

Just wanted to know what their customer services are like if anybody knows

I believe they are fine, they are part of the PC World group, DSG or something.

Never really heard any horror stories around here about them.

Doesn't the stuff usually come from Europe though?

I got a camera from them once, it was pretty slow and came from France.

i bought a canon S2 IS from them a few years ago.

the product was not a UK product, it was originally destined for France, and thus came with all the instructions etc in French.

not too much of a problem, as i just downloaded the manual from Canon's website.

after 8 months one of the buttons on the back stopped working, and this is where the fun started. i contacted Pixmania to see what they would do, and expectidly they reffered me to Canon.

Canon UK would not honour the warrenty untill i could prove i bought it from France legally and on the date i specified (customs slip). i could not, so i had to get Pixmania involved to prove that i bought the camera in faith legally and brand new from them. after a month or so, Canan decided that they had sufficient info to agree to repair under warrenty.

but it took alot of fighting to even get Pixmania to even acknowledge my emails, let alone action them.

that left a bitter taste in my mouth, and as because of i will avoid where possible. but i have recently found out that another company i use (for the life of me i cant remember) is part of or owns pixmania now.

It's £20 cheaper in Richersounds if you have a store nearby? Reading AVforums you should upgrade the firmware for it too.

Before you buy the TV, it's only HD Ready, not Full HD
You want one with 1920*1080. Unless your not fussed about Full HD, in which case, don't worry too much.

I've used pixmania twice in the past without problems to buy cameras. It's a French company now owned by Dixons group.

thanks for the feedback guys, didnt know that they were based in europe, like Monkey said, can cause alot of problems with returning e.t.c.

think ill best leave it, wouldnt mind so much if i wasn't spending as much.

OMG when i made the original post the TV was for sale at £360.... now its up at £399

Yeh i realised it was not full HD, full HD tv's at this size with 3D tend to be £150+ more.

the nearest richer sounds store is about 50miles away from me :(

doers anybody know of any 3DTV's around 40" between £300 and £400?
