    Hi all,

As of a week ago, my whole PC will randomly lock up n play a sound on speed loop.

I have no idea what is causing it, temps not a issue. Everything updated even tryied a bios update on the Graphics card.

12hour run of Memtest came up with no issues.

    No windows files currupted.

No virus or maleware detected with AVG or Maleware Bytes

All OC's set back to stock..

    Nothing is working.

Luckily Im in this one area of skyrim that is def causing the error. But its happening in other games to.

    Any ideas ppl?

ANy of you had this issue in the past. Its really frustrating. :s

    Merry Christmas.

What powersupply are you running and how old is it? Might be possible it's grown a bit unsteady with age.

@ lysaer Anything in particular to look for?

ONly caustions for duplicate registry entrys. But this is not at time of crash

Havnt changed the PCIe speed from anywhere. Is it likely to be changed from outside the BIOS somehow?

I beleive it may be a graphics card issue.

As Tried again, and didnt crash but got a nice little rainbow from the top left of the screen to the bottom. Proceded by artifacts galore. WEnt into device manager and disabled the card. Let it do its thing to get Mobo graphics then enabled again.......still the rainbow.

So apart from the unexpeted system shutdown errors.

There has started to be this one:

    Fault bucket , type 0
    Event Name: LiveKernelEvent
    Response: Not available
    Cab Id: 0

And also a few times in games about 10min into playing this one pops up:

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Check the application and system logs mainly.

Can you see card temps in game?

SO the card temp after a good 10-15min of Kombuster are 75-80. (Thats with the room temp at 27. Stinking hot atm. I have a fan in the room blowing towards the pc & me :p

Temp during Extream run of 3d mark 11 only gets it to 70deg with no errors.

    Im so lost.

    Havnt got another card unfortunately.

Thinking it might be the OC now. THe graphics driver only ever crashes with the OC i had. BUt it had been stable for about 12months now.

Is it possible that over time more voltage is needed to keep the same OC? Due to wear on the parts?

Im baffaled as to why its started playing up now. All i can think of is the ambiant heat which we havnt had yet until this summer.

But why would heat cause the driver to stop responding :s

Gonna run at stock for a while and see if things stay stable.

Let me know if you have any ideas anyone!

Thanks for your suggestions so far.

    Happy holidays!

Well a hot card will always be more prone to error, may be worth a good blow out with an air duster (PC off and don't shake the can).

Got it running at stock now for a bit and its been fine.

So i think the heat is messing up the memory OC.

SO i may have to rethink my OC. It was fine for winter months :p

The chip will degrade from running the voltage higher than stock, depends on how much voltage you put through it.

But yes heat can cause the driver to stop responding. On my gtx 280 the paste dried up and i kept getting that error as there was bad contact with the water block.

Was only 1.05v stock is 1v.

Really think it was just the ambient heat messing with the memory.

The temps wernt obsurdly high. But still high...approx 80deg.

At least im confident that its just the OC and the card isnt buggered.

Stock is stable. So ill have to re benchmark when i OC it again soon. (If i OC again :s)
