I have been convinced that an SSD is the way to go :duh:. Which one should I get? My budget is an absolute maximum of £130. There are plenty within that range, but which is the best in your opinion?

shame Agility are the "slow" model line and you could get a M4 for a little more.

You *could*, but I'd be tempted to swap the port that the HDD is on before adding the new one in, make sure there are no issues & everything boots up ok, then shove the faster SDD onto the sata3 port.

Odd that you only have the one sata3 port - doesn't your board have at least 2?

Will double check the board specs, think I have the Marvell Controller and a Sata 3 port plus Sata 2's.

I found a Crucial 120gb SSD for the same price which is Sandforce.

Just an update. WOW! I don't like to use exclamation marks too much but WOW!!! That is FAST. I still need to tweak some settings to make it boot even faster but it takes like 20 seconds. Everything starts super quick. Even though it's a new PC, adding the SSD makes it feels like a different machine again. Can't wait for the capacity to go up and the price to come down. I remember my first HDD was 30MB, that's 30 MEGABYTES and cost a fortune.

Going to stop overenthusing and install BF3. Thanks all.

    Glad your happy dave :)

For me, getting a SSD was the biggest jump in tangible performance since I went from a Geforce FX 5200 to a Radeon 9800 pro!
