I have accidentally formatted my hard drive which has capacity of 1 terabyte. Almost all the files are gone! With no explanation! How the hell do I get my stuff back?

Plug it in to a machine and run something like recuva to get them back. You need another drive of the same size or bigger to recover to.

DO NOT TRY TO SAVE THE FILES YOU ARE RECOVERING BACK TO THE SAME DRIVE OR IT WILL OVERWRITE DATA

unplug it, don't touch it at all or look at it, and then wait for one of the other forum members to help you because i can't remember the name of the software you need to make your "deleted" files visible again. Prepare to expect the worst though

*edit* someone beat me to the punch :)
