thanks pyro, So am I and it shouldn't be much left now:D

Thank you sir. It took some testfits, fintuning and custom cable plugs but I got it all in eventually.

Thanks mate. I try to keep a flow in the worklog (showing start- to finish) to avoid any confusions. Thats why I wait to show the finished exterior. But I have to admit that it's allso kind of entertaining to tease.

I do, But Im more inteo an 8-bit version of MR T with sunglasses.

    Thanks jeff, realy apreciate it.:thumb:

Oh crap.. didn't think of that. Have to call the WIFI catchers.

    Thanks Quizz:thumb:

    Oops sorry for that:thumb:

I won't call them, tried several times, terrible customer support.
    :thumb:

    Magnificient as usual... :cooldude:

Isn't it a risk that tha left SSD will suffer of overheating while being direct over the heatpipe ?

    Very nice!!!
I think you should put a carbon sheet between the ssd and the heatpipes, in order to prevent ssd overheat.

Thanks Reiep, Im not to worried about the SSDs overheating. From what I have read, SSDs can withstand more heat than a normal HD. A normal HD have a operating temperature around 0-55°C while SSDs are rated up to 70°C. And Im pretty confident I won't reach those temps. A normal HD would probably have a sweaty time though.

    Thanks lakiss.
See above quote, I think Im on the safe side when it comes to overheating SSDs. Actually I don't think there would have been much room for a carbon sheet under the ssd unless it was wery thin. But god point, will keep it in mind if it turns out I need it. But I have too ask..is carbon often used as a good heat insulator? Never worked with it myself.

Thanks mate, Im glad a godly builder like yourself like it :thumb:

    Hm... let me check.
First pic I got from my cable making was from august. But thats the when I started making the extension cables for the I/O connectors. The last hd cables I started only 3 months ago. But I've not been focusing on the cables soleley. They were kind of a pause I worked on from time to time when I was stuck on some other part :)

Pause was maybe a bit exaggerated...as you say, they are a pain.

Soon, very soon a couple of months maybe...
Naa.. just kidding. I just need to sort out the wifi thingy and maybe add a few LED's..and..

    Thanks RedManc:thumb:

    Btw I need some help.
Regarding LED's, I tested to connect some leds to the case fan connectors on the mobo (12v pin with resistors). It worked for a short time but then they decided to turn off. When reconnected it worked again and could stay on for a longer time. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I thought there would be a constant 12v on these fan connectors but it seemed like the mobo shut of the power when it realised there was no real fan precent.

    Anyone knows anything about this?

Maybe I want to rebuild this project for Micro-ATX boards. Do you have copyrights or patents on the design? :D :naughty:

But, ... AWESOME. Need Updates! :dremel:

I don´t know about the fan connectors, but it seemes weird. If your LEDs need 12V, you´ve got molex and ATX to steal from. If 5V is enough you can steal from a USB-connector maybe. GL

    Thanks Ghost.
Hehe, if there is someone who own the mushroom design I would guess it would be Nintendo :) A Micro-ATX version would be really cool. Im also tempted to do a pico-itx version or a raspberry pi version, but I guess I'll have to deal with all the other projects im planning first :)

Thanks dream, There is nothing really fancy planned for the antenna. Just a new placement and casing to make it fit :)

hm.. thanks for the tip with the USB, didn't think of that and think I got some USB pin connectors available.:thumb:
